I never understood it to be showing up early or late, just eating what you being. The rich people ate and drank their food while the poor had to sit there and watch.

The last verses of the section imply they were eating before others as Paul instructs them to wait for one another. 1 Corinthians 11:33-34: "So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another- if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home-so that when you come together it will not be for judgment. About the other things I will give directions when I come."

@@LakeshoreBaptistChurchGary Yet it does not state a common food source. They were just eating the food they brought without concern for others being there or not.
