Where, when and how did Jesus Christ tell us to get together once a week and eat bread and drink wine? Having to do a continual act each week to stay forgiven to stay saved... Isn't that by definition works based salvation? Why would I run out of salvation?... Because it's been a week? If Jesus only went to the cross once... If I'm only baptized once... Why would I have to eat bread and drink wine? Jesus said to the women at the well, (paraphrasing) "Drink this (the water from the well) and you will thirst again... But I will give you a belly of living water that you will never thirst again... And the bread I give you... You will never hunger" I've read the gospels and the epistles over and over again, and I don't see any instruction to perform an eating ritual each week to maintain ones salvation or anyone's grace being contingent on any sacrament. What am I missing?

Henry, sorry about three months elapsing. I just saw this. It's not works-based salvation. Eating the supper doesn't merit salvation. God gives it freely, entirely because of Christ's merit. As far as frequency is concerned, it's obvious that Jesus intended the Supper to be regularly repeated because He said "Do this in remembrance of me." And Acts 2:42 and I Cor. 11:17ff suggest that the NT Christians did it whenever they met to worship.

We do not believe in Transubstantiation, but we do believe in the Real Presence. Jesus said "This is my body" and "This is my blood." we don't know when or how it becomes body and blood, but the bread and wine are still present. Also, it's not works salvation, because what work are we doing by eating? Are we not receiving God's gifts, as in Baptism? We take the Supper so we can be united with Christ and have assurance our sins are forgiven, since Jesus says: Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. ...Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. John 6:54‭, ‬56 ESV We don't do to it earn salvation, we cannot earn salvation, only Jesus can earn us salvation, all we have to do is receive it.

Mary IS NOT deity. Our prayers are always to be directed to the Father and in the name of Jesus. Mary is not God or a member of the Holy Trinity. Mary cannot hear anyone's prayers, let alone answer them.
