Dear travelers! In light of this month's Halloween, I present to you, The Lore of Duskwood! Diving into Duskwood's tales was like opening a treasure chest of stories. While I tried to capture the essence of legends like Stalvan, Mor'Ladim and Abercrombie, I had to summarize them to keep the progression in tact. But fret not! I'm planning on releasing in-depth lore videos on these stories soon. There's so much more to explore in Duskwood, and I'm excited to share it all with you. - P.S. It has come to my attention that another wise lore seeker, Cedric Ironbook, has created a compelling story about an "Unknown Soldier" in these very woods. Take a look for yourselves! kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6i8d6p9bLF1atEsi=THQjh5mvMuQ0sn0_

These videos really do show how important it is to read through all the quests rather than just skipping it and pressing "Accept", no matter how tedious reading is. The game has soooo much absolutely fantastic lore that many tend to miss out on simply because they skip on examining the text presented to them. Fantastic videos! Been binge watching for the last few hours!

Wouldn’t it be cool if doing all these quests actually rid the evil from the land on that character and you could see the impact of all the work you did instead of everything just respawning. It’s like you did nothing at all and it made no difference. The poor people doomed to an even worse fate of clinging on to hope that something will change if they just stay strong but unbeknownst to them their programming would never allow it.

This is so good, the text is beautifully written. It reminds me of the old Sierra games like Kings Quest, those games shined purely because of the story telling! Imagine if blizzard had this narrating in their zones through out your progression. Its so stupid they dont have this, the cutscenes are ugly and the dialog is so low effort it brings nothing to the game, it would be so healthy for the game, because in reality the game struggles to be half as emmersive as a game from 1990

There are some inaccuracies, which makes me cautious for what this can do to people searching this popular video and consider it cannon. I like the presentation. This is just the beginning of digital history being just as fuzzy as IRL history.
@TheChroniclesofAzeroth Жыл бұрын
Can you list the inaccuracies you have found? I'm curious to know, as I try to stick to official lore as much as possible.
@lukegaddis2184 Жыл бұрын
It's more like mispronunciations than lore inaccuracies. Darkshire is pronounced as "Darksure" or "Darkshore" and Goldshire as "Goldsure" or "Goldshore". And some timeline mix ups, where something is said to happen before or after it did. I have not caught a timeline issue in this one, but I have in others. If I catch any on other viewings I will leave a comment. I am a big fan of these and I am just speaking out because I think these are great pieces to get someone into the expansive WOW lore and it's so fun. I am a fan, keep'em coming!@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth
@TheChroniclesofAzeroth Жыл бұрын
Those aren't mispronunciations. Darkshire or Goldshire, just like many other Shires in the English countryside, are pronounced exactly like that. As a British creator, I intent to use the British way of speaking and writing. Other than that, the point of these videos is not to stay untrue to the Lore of this world but to entertain and immerse :)
@lukegaddis2184 Жыл бұрын
Cool, but "you" pronounce them differently in the video itself, the "American" way and the "British" way. As someone following this stuff for over 20 years, hearing something being mispronounced, when it has over a decade of coverage, is immersion breaking. Love the work, keep it up. I love listening to these when I go to sleep.@@TheChroniclesofAzeroth
