"During the Third War, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they did not commit. These Gnomes promptly escaped from the Stormwind Stockades and fled to the Ironforge underground. Today, still wanted by the Alliance, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire, The G-Team."

I'm just saying, the Season of Discovery Gnomeregan raid would've been a great time to release a patch on retail finally reclaiming Gnomeregan as a city. I love the lore of this place, and how its so much darker than most players think gnome lore can be. Like, let's just talk about what happened here. A close friend of the gnomes' leader, jealous of his status, enacted a plan that he knew would result in mass casualties for his people just to make the leader look bad. And even still, the plan killed more than anticipated. 80% of the entire gnomish population. And even of those who survived, many were driven to madness and don't even know where they are or what's going on anymore, perceiving anyone who approaches them as invading troggs like their minds are still trapped in that eternal initial battle. The mastermind meanwhile was also driven mad, not even able to properly conceive of the devastation his plan wrought as his mind is no longer intact. He now rules over the city he coveted, too addled to even properly appreciate the severity of his actions. And perhaps darkest of all, until a cure is found, all Leper Gnomes are destined to one day entirely devolve into formless piles of irradiated goop, the only remnants of who they once were being their personal belongings suspended in their viscous new forms. Like, that's dark as hell.

Indeed, it is great lore, would love to see the reclaiming of the city! Thanks for the comment. King's honour friend ⚔

Really sad how it’s literally still stuck in barely updated TBC. Blizz could make some really fun PH if they updated these cap cities

Hey! Another great video! One would think after all these years and all the progress that has been made since the fall of Gnomeregan a retake should be possible. just food for thoughts :). Best wishes from Sweden!

Do the Mechagnomes have always been part of the Lore? Being created before Gnomes? Or is it a retcon by Blizzard?
@MrCevin2210 ай бұрын
Nah it's not a retcon. Gnomes and dwarves were originally all mechanical until the curse of flesh.

I've always wanted to play WoW, but I've never had a good computer. Now that I do, I'm thinking about starting to play. Is it still worth playing it in 2024? Both retail and classic, or both? I would like your opinion as a veteran player.

The library's perspective is that retail World of Warcraft provides a wonderful option for those seeking a cozy and relaxed gaming experience, especially if the focus is on leveling. However, the Season of Discovery is currently highly popular and offers a refreshing perspective on the original game, alongside that cozy experience. Starting in SoD could be an excellent choice. In contrast, retail might occasionally feel a bit subdued during quests in less-traveled areas. Ultimately, the choice depends on the specific experience you are seeking, with SoD being a particularly appealing starting point.

This kinda makes no sense.. Ulduar is Wotlk 2 expansions ahead of classic. We want Gnomeregan lore and not Ulduar lore which came years later LOL. This story telling is all over the place.. why dont you tell us also that dragons are flying in dragonflight?
@TheKarazhanLibrary10 ай бұрын
There would be no Gnomeregan without the gnomes. There would be gnomes without Mimiron and the curse of flesh. There would be no curse of flesh without Yogg-Saron being imprisoned in Ulduar. Just because we went to Northrend years after Classic doesn’t mean the lore correlates? Ulduar was created long before Gnomeregan, thousands of years before…this tale is told in chronological order
@moneym296210 ай бұрын
Ulduar is much older than gnomer and the curse of flesh that effected gnomer originated from the story of ulduar, it would make less sense to do them the other way around. Just enjoy the quality of the video and stop nit picking over meaningless shite

Imagine pretending to be a lore nerd, but only taking lore that is pre-classic into account. News flash bub. Gnomes weren't a thing in in-game Warcraft until Vanilla. It takes time for an entire race's lore to be built, and if it takes 5+ years then so be it. Gnomeregan barely has any lore, and the subsequent gnome/mechagnome lore since has been to build that out. The world didn't end in 2005, or 2008, or even 2018. Things change. Get with the program.
