I know this video is almost half a year old by now... but just as a quick fun fact (if anyone is still reading this): the weapon mentioned at 3:36 that was initially abandoned from the base game has actually returned as a DLC weapon in _Shadow of the Erdtree_ (with the same model and artwork) under another name: Euporia. You know what that word possibly refers to? "Euphoria" - a feeling or state of intense excitement and happiness. Now... does that sound in any way familiar to you, when talking about Kindly Miquella? ;) The ingame description reads: "Twinblade symbolizing abundance. The secret treasure of the tower. Though the blades, fashioned from golden shoots, are largely wilted and darkened, their luster can be restored by dealing damage to foes. However, damage dealt to Those Who Live in Death will have no such effect." I'll leave you with that. :3

Can’t wait for the Age of Stars reaction, it’s Vaati’s best video and it’s for Elden Ring’s best girl.

57:08 - these are very interesting points. In fact, the opening dialogue of the new Shadow of the Erdtree trailer seems to double down on these concepts: “Pure and Radiant, he wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men….. There is nothing more terrifying” Fromsoft and George RR Martin are incredibly good at making grey characters. “Shriving clean” of something is typically known as absolving of one’s sins. Naturally, it makes miquella come across as Elden Ring’s pure hero figure - he wants to be the one to save the world. But the following dialogue “… there is nothing more terrifying” implies that the commoners will see this Love and Affection as being a little too freaky, in a sense. Excited to see what morality scale Miquella truly lays on. But one things for sure, he has a pure heart and wants to cleanse the world of pain - and being an Empyrean God allows him to do so. But, just like in our real world, we fear ANYONE in possession of such a power.

The way its described how Miquella compels affection reminds me of Margery from Game of Thrones. Smart and manipulative but not to people's detriment. They both seemed to be 'Growing strong'.

As fans of Dark Souls games, we the players expect everyone else's dreams for the world to be lost and instead we get to choose the ending. But in Elden Ring, with so many incredibly powerful and ambitious beings, it's hard to tell who is succeeding and who is getting what they want. The demigod children all seem to get their father's fervour and fury, and their mother's cunning mind. Miquella, Mohg, Marika, Melina, Radahn, they all play their parts in ways that you wouldn't expect, like Marika possibly being involved/complacent with the death of Godwyn, despite loving him dearly. Or Mohg being completely infatuated by Miquella, but somehow harming him and his goals for the haligtree. I believe Miquella was greatly inspired by Radagon in his fundamentalism to the erdtree, and then later saw how his mother, Marika, handled things, and grew to become more like her. Their fingers are just in so many pies. Yeah Vaati giving shoutouts has been a huge step in the right direction for the community, there's a lot of great work and beauty that comes from so many people, and even the smallest theory channels have some truly great content to bend your mind!

Miquella is very much implied to manipulate people, but manipulation isn't necessarily a bad thing, even if it can easily be used as such. Manipulating people just means intentionally making them feel or do something you want. That can of course mean taking profit of someone and using them, but it can also mean being able to guide and lead people in the right direction, being able to convince them out of mistakes and danger, or even just being skilled at drawing the right emotions to convey what you want. In fact, when you think about it every single form of media is a way to manipulating you into feeling what the author wants you to. You could even say that compliments are a form of manipulating someone to feel happiness or pride. Manipulation is inherently controlling to an extent, but not inherently insincere.
@thomash3418 ай бұрын
I never trusted that Miquella was abducted by Mohg, at least not without Miquella himself allowing it. It’s too much of a stretch to believe that this Demi-god who we’ve heard is the most fearsome empyrean, whose brilliance was recognized by Radagon, and had the ability to make others devoted to him would leave himself so unprotected during the shattering by sending his sister (his “blade”) to fight Radahn. This makes less sense since Radahn’s death would allow the stars to move again, allowing another outer god to spread its influence over the lands between when Miquella seemed to want to create an order without the meddling of the outer gods.
@PeteQuaint8 ай бұрын
I wonder if both Miquella and Malenia were in on the plan to have him abducted. Miquella is very knowledgeable about the occult, and he might have figured out how to cast away his body, using Mohg and his outer god. Malenia seems to believe that Miquella will return and fulfill “his promise” and doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to find him at all. To me, at least, this means that his abduction was premeditated. But Radahn halted the stars and Miquella’s fate, like he did with Ranni, and need to be defeated for Miquella to achieve his “destiny”. But since Malenia’s fate is (likely) also halted, it resulted in a stalemate, which put his plan in a standstill. Until the Chosen Tarnished - “his promised lord” - arrived.
@thomash3418 ай бұрын
@@PeteQuaint My friend and I thought (before I knew Miquella’s connection to the stars) that the haligtree failed to complete miquella’s ascension because Malenia’s bloom poisoned it. At that point, Miquella may have seen his sister as an obstacle to his plans and decided to have Malenia fight Radahn, not expecting her to survive. Now, this might not be the case but I still think the haligtree wasn’t enough to fuel his ascension, so Miquella turned to Mohg and his dynasty to complete his plan. He would use the formless mother to become a god while the unalloyed gold would keep him free of her influence.
@PeteQuaint8 ай бұрын
@@thomash341 The stars stuff is just speculation on my end though, since the game only outright stated that the Carian royal family's fate is governed by the stars. Realistically, it probably has something to do with Miquella's eclipse plan, rather than fate. Your take on Miquella sending Malenia out to die is very interesting though. I wonder if he's that dead set on godhood to consider such a thing.
@thomash3418 ай бұрын
@@PeteQuaint Initially, I believed Miquella’s desire for godhood was so that he could save Malenia and Ranni being gifted Blaidd meant the greater will hadn’t chosen him for ascension. Thus, Miquella came up with the idea to create his own tree and order with himself as its chosen god to save Malenia. I believed this until I really thought about Malenia and her fight with Radahn. Malenia is Miquella’s blade and is supposedly a warrior so amazing that none have bested her but the first time we see her in the trailer, Malenia is getting back on her feet and reattaching her arm while Radahn waits patiently for the fight to resume. We also learn the Radahn was supposed to be the mightiest of the demigods which shows through the lore with his conquering of the stars. It’s almost as if someone has been gassing Malenia up to believe herself to be an undefeated warrior. The way she herself repeats “I am Malenia, blade of Miquella” is almost like a mantra meant to reinforce an idea.

While not exactly related to Elden Ring, you can watch Vaati's video titled 'The Nameless King's Betrayal'. Godwyn and Nameless King seem to have a lot of things in common, which may help in understanding Godwyn's character slightly more. Also FromSoft has a history of reusing concepts from previous games. :)

Can you please react to Vampire: The Masquerade-Bloodhunt and the other Vampire The Masquerade games.
@Lark_man8 ай бұрын
Miquella is definitely the most powerful demigod in elden ring imo. Not because he holds any kind of special power, but because he genuinely tries so hard to fix so many problems in the world, but I think he just has so much on his plate that it isn't possible; without going to the "root" of the problem. I think the dlc will have the answers to that problem. I also hope we get his age of abundance ending, which was also cut from the game.
