The Dodgers got big contributions from their 'Big 4' at the top of the order in a win over the Giants. While Shohei Ohtani has struggled, he still was able to drive in a run and score a run. On the pitching side, James Paxton went 5 innings and allowed no runs to cap a first time through the rotation that was pretty good. Of course we talked about Bobby Miller too. The key players have really stepped up, especially Mookie who looks spectacular. Despite Ohtani being in a slump, I'm not too worried about him. He seems a bit off, like his timing's wrong, and I bet that gambling thing is messing with his head more than he lets on, that’s just who he is. Since that came out, he's been struggling, even in spring training, and he's still not quite there. It might take him a while to bounce back, but luckily, the team isn't relying solely on him. We'll still make it to October. And when Ohtani gets back in the groove - just watch out. Remember those early spring games? Even if he hits .700 in the regular season, what really matters is how he shines on the big stage in October.

Kinda expecting Ohtani to have a slow start his best month is usually at June he slashed 1.444 OPS, .394 AVG with 15HR on last year June. The most ridiculous part? He did it while pitching

I’m just waiting for him to swing without his helmet coming off. Ohtani is swinging much too hard and he doesn’t have to. He’s trying to be too good for us but he’s gotta be himself. To me, he’ll be a Dodger when he stops trying to prove who he is. Just play Shohei

I hated to see Crismatt being DFA’d. Due to recent pitching performance, it seems to me that we would have been better off sending Grove down and keeping Crismatt on the active roster. Thoughts?

Shohei is in a big slump. A new wife keeping him up late at night, losing his best friend and assistant Ippei due to scandal and the scandal investigation that MLB is looking into. He was much better at hitting when he was able to pitch. If you look at his hitting stats on the days that he pitches, his batting average is much, much better....Hitting is as much mental as physical. Shohei will find a way to get out of his slump.
