Dante's Divine Comedy is HEAVY... Not that it could be blamed for a murder-suicide, but for anyone who's planning to try and read it, I suggest going into it with a grounded head and a good support system to bring you back into the present moment because it's kind of like watching a lot of heavy True Crime alone at night and then if we don't do something to clear the energy from us or ground our thinking back into the present so we can stay connected to our sense of self, our values and our reality and energetically and consciously stay IN our bodies... (because let's face it, no matter who we want to think we are, feeding our minds with a lot of True Crime can sometimes turn our thoughts dark and take our thinking to some crazy places for those of us who are drawn to trying to get into the minds of the criminals and their thought processes in our want to know why they did what they did to their victims... Because let's face it - criminology and forensics is fascinating and that's why most of us are drawn to watching/listening to/reading True Crime)... Anyhow that's my advice based on personal experience - and I understand that not everyone is the same, so trust your own intuition and judgement 💜💜💜

@Raquel L it really makes you think deeply about our afterlife and is not shy on the "fear" of what becomes of the choices we made in our life and how it impacts the afterlife... I feel a person who has some heavy personal shame and guilt could be triggered like as seen in this case?
@shannon-maree7839
@shannon-maree7839 3 жыл бұрын
@Raquel L I think it's such a statement of your character that you're willing to open your mind and heart and explore spiritual concepts aligned with Christianity yet moving beyond the bounds of traditional Christian beliefs of the afterlife, if that makes sense? Am I getting this?
@namaihelbirem

I think it honestly depends on the person, tbh. I read it recently and was more offended by some aspects than traumatized/disturbed, and I don't usually get offended by things like this.
@dania1193
@dania1193 3 жыл бұрын
In Italy we study it for three full years (one for Inferno, one for Purgatorio and so on) since it's such an important part of our literature. And I seriously don't understand where all these "disturbing" feelings come from? I know it talks about the afterlife, but it's mainly through metaphors and it doesn't really get too descriptive.. it's more like a description of Dante's inner journey, it even has a "happy ending" with the vision of Mary. Idk, maybe I'm just desensitized to it

I’ve read one time that this type of crime is common during financial crises. For example, here in Brazil we are going through a hard time in our economy for a few years now and some business have crashed, the unemployment rate grows higher each year and a lot of families are in really bad situation due to this. So, in 2016, a man murdered his wife and two children and then committed suicide cause he had lost everything and couldn’t see how to provide to them anymore or maintain the lifestyle they were used to. It’s like the father fears for the well being of the family due to the lost of the money, so he thinks that maybe killing them it’s a way to ensure that they will be ok somehow and I truly believe that this was what happened. I think that maybe in Harold’s mind he was dealing with their money problems (so sorry for my English, it’s been a few months since I had to write in another language than in Portuguese, so I’m kinda rusty haha)

Maybe he took some drugs that ended up aggravating his already poor state of mind (because how calm he was, isn't normal). Also is it possible that he was like sleep walking and already sub-consciously wanted to hurt his family so his inhibitions were lowered? Or he just snapped after all the stress.

OMG Bella! Los Feliz is still such a wealthy area! In case you didn’t know, you can see the Ennis House in the upper far right corner of the photo at 0:28. Fun Fact, Lloyd Wright was a famous architect and built that house. At the bottom of the hill where the Los Feliz Murder Mansion House and the Ennis House is located, the Black Dahlia house was built there. What’s even crazier is that Lloyd Wright, the architect who built a house right next to the Perelson house, built George Hodel’s house AKA the prime suspect in the Black Dahlia case.The houses are like placed in a triangle, what a crazy coincidence.

It was a bit more than that. The horrid thing his partner did to him was an assault on his psyche. Shock, anger, despair, confusion & a carnival full of things can actually leave you spiritually and emotionally wounded and can be very difficult to recover from. Then the accident & following court battles...One thing for sure is he was reading the WRONG book. He needed to heal from what happened & went looking in the WRONG places. It's a shame psychology and counseling was so stigmatized back then as well as that system so abusive to the patients, because clearly his wife was right, attempting to seek help for him.He could have gotten through the trauma and eventually recovered,, in time and with some help,..But because they were so horrid back then (& so sneaky/ underhanded) it would have only added to his fear & was probably the straw that broke the camel's back, as they say.

I’m a HUGE skeptic when it comes to the paranormal and ghosts, that probably stems from me not knowing what I️ believe happens after death. However, I️ grew up in a 300 year old farm house on what is now 10 acres because land has been sold off, the front of which (one large living room with a wood stove, and one bedroom, which was my room) used to be slave quarters, the plantation house had been torn down. Of course by the time we lived there additions had been made, other rooms had been added, a bathroom, etc. I’m STILL a skeptic, but things happened in that house that I️ cannot explain. And people are always shocked when I️ tell them it was never malicious, I️ was never scared. It was almost playful. When I️ was in my nursery which was a different room than I️ ended up moving into, my parents were both there putting me to bed and I’m an only child, so when I️ heard footsteps banging in the attic, I️ asked them what it was, and they told me very honestly and frankly told me that the house had some spirits and not to be afraid, they aren’t scary, they’re pretty nice. To be honest? They never did anything to make me fear them, it really was almost playful. I️ have more stories than I️ can count, but just a few being, Physically flicking my light switch up and down, as in, it moved up and down as my lights flickered. Moving a GIANT bookcase in the attic full of textbooks that no human could move, and there were drag marks on the floor. Slamming doors behind me after I️ went through them despite all the windows being closed (couldn’t blame it on the wind) Down to when I️ moved to the front room, they’d be walking in the attic and I️’d just say out loud “I️ know this is your house and I️ respect that but I️ really need to sleep, can you please walk in the morning?” And they would stop. One time I️ left my paint and canvas out on accident as I️ fell asleep and when I️ woke up the whole thing was scribbled on in bright pink paint (I️ was painting a wooded landscape, the pink paint on my pallet was to mix with white for the sky.) They also LOVED putting my things in random places so I️ had to search for them. As in, my wallet was in the shower caddy. My cigarettes were in the refrigerator. My water bottle was in my guitar case. Places I️ would NEVER put things, but had to search to find or found months later. Like I️ said, I’m a skeptic and I️ don’t believe that MOST “haunted” places have ghosts, but I️ grew up with things happening that I️ couldn’t explain with anything other than the paranormal. I️ still hesitate to believe something I️ haven’t seen happen, however.

I don’t understand why people dislike videos that are based on true stories, yes I know no one thinks it’s acceptable or is “likeable” but the amount of work Bella goes to, to bring light to cases like this is incredible! When you give it a thumbs down it could potentially take away the reach to others. I know sometimes it’s a mistake but don’t do it just because you don’t like the case. It’s like a presentation on a topic, you wouldn’t grade lower because you didn’t like the topic. Spread kindness ✨ Merry Christmas x

Girl I just wanna take a second to say I absolutely love your way of telling these cases. I could listen to you talk for hours and I actually do😂 I just love that you find humor in some of these cases to lighten up the mood. You had me laughing so hard when you went “oh yeah Jude quiet down im just killing you” 😂

ive actually visited!! multiple times.. it gives me the creeps and always has a bad vibe. storytime 1: we visited once with my grandmother (keep in mind shes very catholic) and we drove by and later my grandmother said it has lots of negativity towards it, then another time we went with one of my brothers old gfs and we saw it and again, gave us the creeps, and as soon as we were driving away the car stopped,, just completely shut off, and there was a car coming towards us really fast and not slowing down and finally my dad got the car to start and we had just missed the car, if my dad hadnt started the car in time, we probably wouldve been dead or very injured.... p.s the house across from it also gives me major creeps :/

While the 1950s were sexist I am also just saying that house work was a lot harder than it is today. They didn’t have all the appliances that we do today so it took a lot more work to cook and clean the house

Dante's Divine Comedy is Medieval satire. At a time when everyone was terrified over the world ending and their soul burning in hell, Dante wrote about that very subject. It took me a long time to grasp the Medieval satire/humor in his work.

Dante's Divine Comedy (or Dante's Inferno is what I've always called it because I've only seen the parts about hell) is a crazy story. There are a bunch of videos on youtube that explain it, I really suggest anyone interested goes and watches/or reads about it online. It creeps me out he was reading that before doing this, because the depiction of the layers of hell are so horrible.

To answer your question in the beginning - “is it still in a wealthy area?” Yes it is! It’s on the edge of Griffith Park in Hollywood, and super duper close to Griffith Observatory. The Hollywood sign and Hollywood Hills are on the other side of the Park - but all within a few miles of each other. I drove by this house out of curiosity and took a picture (wish KZbin would let you leave a pic in the comment section!) Anyway, thought I’d let you know that there are a bunch of huge mansions and houses in that neighborhood - Hollywood stars live in and around here. Fun fact: the famous Sowden House where the Black Dhalia could’ve been murdered by George Hodel is just a couple blocks away from this house!
