I blame the gummit. 14 billion in tax cuts revenue but borrowing 12 billion for day to day operations. Sacking thousands of public servants who help us etc. Its is as if they want to cause a depression so they can sell whats left of public assets to their mates and retire to be one of those same outfits as directors. All be done before. Thansfer of public wealth to private hands. Oligachy rule.
@tanepukenga14213 ай бұрын
Well, yeah. When people have no money to buy local goods (made worse by national trying to make imports more attractive) then the locals end up jobless, which means more NZ money going overseas to the only providers left. In saying that, the plants also did this to themselves by keeping the best cuts for exports only, or insanely jacked up prices domestically. It's like how we lost butchers to mass processed meat, of which we now get the worst cuts for premium prices. Chicken legs cost 8 bucks domestically is a sign that the country is starting to properly fail.

You can’t moan about borrowing money then complain they sacked public servants many of which were doing very little It’s not the tax payers responsibility to give people employment It’s smart policy to give tax cuts because it drives up productivity because people keep more of their own money. This in helps bring down inflation
@tanepukenga14213 ай бұрын
@@Gumpmachine1 Well it hasn't. Instead it's dropped productivity to the point people are dying in ER. Also your mixing up 19,000,000 with 19,000,000, 000. It's an entire magnitude larger, dude. So far they've only saved 40,000,000. At the sacrifice of tens of thousands of kiwi's. And 19 billion
@Kelvinpaul43 ай бұрын
@@Gumpmachine1 State Servants doing very little, is that why the State service had to engage sacked State Servants as contractors in order to continue to run the State Service. You simply don't know that State Servants were doing little, it's the National party philosophy "If I think it and say it, therefore it's true" without any supporting data or evidence is only an ill informed opinion.

The major shareholders (mobil z energy bp ) decided to close it
@laurateaho-white96543 ай бұрын
Labour didn't close Marsden point. The shareholders wanted to move over from manufacturing fuel to being an infrastructure operator. This is because it's more profitable to export crude oil and import refined fuel rather than import crude oil and refine it here.

From my life experience, I have seen many countries go through this, and it all happened for one reason. When a country starts to become ambitious, it starts to set the prices of housing at high prices, and that's when a big mistake begins. I know how to fix it, but I'm just another citizen who only dreams that one day this beautiful country that I love so much will become a strong country economically again.

It's not Labour and or the Greens, the closure is due to falling numbers of sheep and an over capacity of processing. Luxon's unnecessary austerity policies haven't helped and has tanked the economy. Unfortunately it looks like it's going to get worse before better. There are no economists that support austerity measures as a way to grow GDP. National is looking for an unemployment level of 5.5%+, this is pretty standard for National governments over the years. Unemployment could have been higher if the 134,000 NZ residents hadn't left NZ in the last 12 months. My two sons have left with the grandchildren, as there are better opportunities overseas. Youth unemployment is 21% and nothing has been done to alleviate youth unemployment and under employment, so they will probably be leaving as will.

How can someone possibly believe that spending more money is the solution? If you spend more than what you earn in your household you’ll be down in a hole of debt and slammed by interest, this is a basic economic reality. if a country spends more than what it has it will create inflation, then the government will need to increase the interest rate to control inflation. The labour party showed us how to destroy a country’s economy in every possible form, NZ will take a long time to recover.

@@quebrandofronteiras Theodore Roosevelt spent building infrastructure and it helped pull the US out of the Depression as opposed to President Hoover's austerity measures and tariffs, as the Federal Reserve warned him it would deepen and lengthen the Depression, which it did. No economists experienced in macro economics would agree with you or Luxon's austerity measures. British PM David Cameron introduce permanent austerity measures, all it achieved was to increase GDP debt to 100% and one third of British children living in poverty. I suggest you take in some lectures or reading relating to austerity policies and how they actually increase debt. One of the commonly held beliefs in NZ is the public debt is to high, is incorrect, NZ public debt is 42.3% of GDP, that by international comparison is low and manageable, Japan's public GDP debt is 218%. It's ridiculous for armchair economists to be deeply concerned about Public debt, when the real problem with the NZ economy is private sector debt which is horrendous and nothing is being done to address this issue. A significant amount of private debt is invested in property speculation, in order to procure tax free capital gains, which doesn't add to or increase GDP growth . The best time to reduce Public debt is in the boom times as it has minimal impact on the economy. Luxon has tanked the economy with his economic crisis rhetoric and austerity policies, causing the the economy to nose dive, in 12 months of Luxon's government, he has added $20 billion to the public debt. It looks as though the economy will continue to retract, with sluggish consumer spending, higher unemployment and under employment . Paying off the public debt is not going to reverse NZs current economic decline in the mid term, it will eventually improve, more by external influences than Luxon's policies. However there will be alot of social and economic damage to be attended to, which will mean more borrowing .

@@thinking102”imaginary man in the sky” was simplified explanation of God for uneducated people in the past…God is responsible for the logic of Universe. You can’t deny existence of power, love, logic, just because they are not material things you can see. Yes, Einstein did believe in God. "The more I study science," he remarked, "the more I believe in God." Also others, including Galileo, physicist Sir Isaac Newton and astronomer Johannes Kepler, were deeply devout and often viewed their work as a way to illuminate God's creation. People needed to mark/ name the force that brings consciousness in us, makes consequences for us, and generally created Big Bang with all following constructions of Galaxies and Life on Earth, so as you see it’s a bit more than “ imaginary man”.
