I lost my mum too when i was 14yrs old. Mine got sick and died two weeks later. Life changed am telling you. I remember my mum last words were that she left us in God's hands. It's God who indeed took care of us. Family and my mum's friends left us to face the world it was very hard and painful but God is always faithful,always true to his word that he is the father of the fatherless.

I loved this story and it took me way back to my childhood. Having lost my mum at a tender age, no one talked to us about death and we were expected to accept and move on... Sob, sob😢

Our stories are almost the same , wanjiku , I was raised by a single mother since birth my life was mom and I, in 2009 my mother remarried and sired my lil sis , in 2013 my moms brother , who is a drunkard bet my mom and left her with a scar which resulted to cancer , in 2014 my mom passed right on my side , since that day its been hard I mean life has been hard currently I am in 3rd year nairobi university , taking economics and statistics this Is my testimony

I lost my mum in 2003 n still cries. I've never recovered. No counselling or anything.. I always wonder what my bro thinks coz he was only 6 then... I pray that God gives me full life to bring up my 2 babies till they grey..... It ain't easy...never the same...n at times life n pips can be mean... I lost even faith in God since that day n was real pagan almost atheist...but I encounterd God/Jesus n love in 2012. For 10yrs I never regarded God for taking her away n watching me suffer

I am so touched by your story Wanjiku.I happen to be a cousin to your mother and I worked with her .I left Kenya right after the blast and happen not to know much there after.I feel guilty that I have been so disconnected to know what has been going on

This story really relates to me not as an orphan but as a step mum..got married to a widower with three daughters and he didn't make any formal introduction to the kids..I just came into their life very young and not knowing anything about step parenting or rather just parenting..I faced a lot of rejection from the first born daughter and we have no any relationship with her..the dad to my step kids takes care fully of his kids just like shikus dad did but he has never made a point of uniting us as a family..we have two boys together..we live together as a family but can even stay two months or so without uttering a word to the firstborn daughter.. there's a time we almost fought when I was heavily pregnant for my second born.. praying to God that my story as a step mum will one day change and relationship btn I and my daughter mend
