It's still hard to believe he's gone. I didn't know him outside of KZbin but my appreciation for hash absolutely comes from him. These are amazing people here. Their knowledge is invaluable.

Thank you all for the wonderful podcast! I enjoyed the story and the related information. I had a neighbor who was married to a Jamaican woman. They would visit her family in Jamaica, who produced Jamaican finger hash. He would mail a package of it to himself, which is how I first learned about hash back in 1997-98 when I was a senior in high school. After receiving about 10 grams from him, I can agree with you on the entire process-from how it’s grown, how long it’s cultivated, how it’s harvested, to how it’s cured, aged, and ultimately consumed. All of these factors impact its effects. Thanks again, and best wishes to the three of you and everyone else who reads this. ✌️🇺🇸

Thank you for this wonderful historical content. I just fond out about Frenchy/Madam last night so I am doing my research about full spectrum temple balls. Thank you for the book referal: Thai stick : surfers, scammers, and the untold story of the marijuana trade, I'll have my cup of tea and read it tonight.

🙂Well..Blue Skun?, cup of tea, for vibes Stick Figure - "Showdown" (feat. Collie Buddz). It read like a William Gibson(a fav) novel. My first smile was “Now the world’s got amnesia." in the first chapter parallels how I think about the historical value of this plant. Its lineage is BCE :-) but I just love to get a glimpse of how the plant effects us as international community today. How will we add to this linage and be written in this historical phenomenon. Thank you for my time was worth while reading this book. Now I have to reread it so I can argue with the author on some points ha ha..🙂 Kevin / Frenchy/Madam Rocks!

I agree with kim as in that rosin shouldn't really be called hash BUT most of the time (when people are educated) people call their stuff hash rosin to differ it (made from ice water hash) from being rosin made from flower from kief or dry sift. I do absolutely hate when people call any solvent extracted concentrates "hash" it seems almost disrespectful to the history of this plant we love so much

Nobody that smokes hash really gives a fuck

Proper hash rosin/live hash rosin, is squished from a hash run. That's the only reason that it should have hash in name.
@StickyNews710Ай бұрын
Not to be argumentative with you but she explained Frenchy’s process of water extraction and called it Hash Rosin (around 15 min time stamp). The term “Hash Rosin” is correct, as it describes the type of rosin versus “Fresh Press Rosin.”

We started smoking proper hash in 70s in Australia most of our😮 hash from the middle East got charged with 4 grams and got 18 months goal I have not seen hash since the early 80s in any amount

I do think destinction is the key people want to shorten hash rosin and will use either name when in reality its a specific product its rosin made from hash. I prefer to just say traditional concentrate.

The strains that they had back in the 70s were completely different than what they have today and that has a lot to do with the flavor of hashish.

We used to get great blonde and red lebenese and morrocan hash in the seventies in the deep south of the US
@seeharvester2 ай бұрын
Yes we did. Blonde Lebanese. Tan. One or 2 tokes was sufficient. Whenever the Med Cruise would return, the Naval bases would be a good source. Panama red. Columbian gold, Orange Barrel sunshine was available as well, if you knew the right people. Ah, the good old days.

@kelleyheard5790 and the Colombian gold tasted like the blond Lebanese hash. These young people crack me up they think all we smoked was shit weed in the 70s lmao we smoked our share back in the day the bad stuff was bad and the good stuff was great .what I would give for an lb of Santa Marta gold and a lb old school blonde Lebanese all just for my old body that is in constant pain now.

I breed mostly bc like was said here most varieties are missing something she there high in thc but like I've said for a long time it's not all about thc. I actually use autoflowers and photoperiod to make things and I do this bc autos are less worked so it's easier to find older traits and then breed towards them.

Nothing tastes as good as hand made hash most people under 50 wouldn't know of gold stamp hash from morroco Turkey areas that we smoked in 70s

@cannabichem if you get the chance old world hash is still avaliable in Europe unfortunately we don't see much middle Eastern hash due to the difficulty if getting it here(due to the instability of the region)Indian hash is found on occasion and is expensive but there is a large supply of hash from marroco. I can definitely feel the difference between it and the extracts more commonly found across the pond.

So excited to see your content about Frenchy’s legacy! I’ve been down a rabbit hole with it for the past week. Truly important perspective in these early times of cannabicapitalism! I hope to attend the workshop in my area this fall ❤

Hash is sived heads, Americans hav a problem with tring to rename things that the rest of the world already has a word for, just look a a turtle (turtle has flippers and swims, a tortoise has legs). It was all Moroccan hash when I was young, I first seen flower in 2002 and it was extremely rare. We need to bring hash back again. If women made less than men why wouldn't these big cooperations not save a lot of money and just hire all women

In the early 70s i only smoked hash. Weed was terrible gross stuff . I had very good sources for all sorts of variations. Lebanese, green Morrocan, and on and on. The best was black Nepalese. Gummy and top quality. Smooth . I assume that "hash oil" was rosin? I didnt like that stuff . It worked but it was a last resort.
