Dear KZbin, Please, stop pausing the video at the 6 hour mark to ask if we are still watching, it wakes us up! It completely defeats the purpose of these sleep videos. This video creator works hard to bring his followers a full 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I'm typing this comment right now because KZbin, you very rudely, woke me up 2 hours early this morning so now I'm 😡. It will take half the day for my body to shake off the residual effects of that. People rely on videos like Dan Jones Sleep Stories to help them get those precious 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep they need to offset the strain that everyday stress puts on their bodies. I ❤ these videos! So Please KZbin, don't add to the stress, Let Us Sleep.

That explains something I have wondered when I look at my analytics. I have all these videos, usually about 8 hours or longer, yet every single one (for years) shows that the majority of people stop watching at about 6h03m. I have wondered whether this just happened to be because among the thousands of views on the different videos, most people just happen to sleep about this length of time, but that has always felt odd, that the most common sleep duration is that length. You are the first person in 5 years of posting videos longer than 6 hours, that has mentioned this happening, and so I am sure that this is really the reason why most people are shown as stopping watching just after 6 hours into the videos. I didn't know this was a thing and don't know if there is a setting that can be turned off to stop this happening in the future? I'll see if I can find out. If there is, then I will try to add that information to the video descriptions and do a community post about it, to let people know they can stop KZbin stopping their video. With KZbin placing ads in mine and other sleep creator videos when we have the ads turned off, and now having ads on at the end of videos without creators being able to turn those ads off anymore, and deciding people click on a single video and would want asking if they want the video to keep playing, KZbin makes it very difficult for viewers and frustrating for us creators. Imagine two-thirds through a film, getting a notification to ask if you want to keep watching, rather than assuming you put the film on because you want to watch the whole thing unless you decide to turn it off!

@DanJonesHypnosis This isn't the first time that has happened. It's happened a lot actually. I usually just get up and let the video play out to the end, but it has become so frustrating when it happens, that this morning I felt the need to speak up about it in hopes that it might help. Keep up the great work 👍

I've found two bits possibly related to this. I can't see anywhere that says KZbin asks this specifically at 6 hours. One post by Google said that if you have autoplay turned on then you will be asked this at 60, 120 or 180 minutes, so it could be that although it doesn't say, it also asks at 360 minutes. If this is the case then perhaps checking to make sure autoplay is turned off might stop it happening. Another post by Google that I saw was that the option to turn this feature off is only available to Premium subscribers.

@DanJonesHypnosis Interesting. I have auto play turned off because of that very issue you described. I do not however have premium, so more than likely it's related to that.

I love your sleep stories, Dan! My son's suggestion for a future sleep story is one where a young teen gets to live a dream week. You know, like his mom randomly winning a hell cat, and they drive it across the USA on a road trip. Stopping at all the video game and jump rooms and amusement parks and beaches along the way. That kind of thing. Oh, and his crush with the long, blonde hair realizes she likes him back and they start going out.

My best friend was always Kirk (which happened to be his middle name) - overly emotional and reactive. Being autistic, he always referred to me as Spock - calm, logical, rarely reactive or making decisions based on emotion, but, like most autistic people, highly sensitive to the emotions of others to the point where if I got emotional it would be overwhelming.
