Elvis had beautiful character with humility and loving concern for the welfare of others. I am 3 yrs younger than Elvis and when he began his career it was an awesome time. His song, Love me Tender, was my favorite.

Elvis passed away when i was 11 months old. I never paid any attention to anything Elvis until a couple years ago when a video popped up on my KZbin feed. He was on the Ed Sullivan show, singing Don't be Cruel. For whatever reason I watched it and I've been hooked ever since. Going to Graceland later this month. I 100% understand why people are and were crazy about him. There will never be another. TCB. Thank you for sharing these priceless videos.

In the early 70's Elvis was already at it for almost 30 years the way I can explain it was Elvis was so famous he became like a superhero to the people there's lots of famous people but to this day I can't think of anybody that famous except the Beatles and Michael Jackson probably came the closest but When Elvis walked into a room it made other famous people nervous that's how famous he was he was the number one cat and not just North America the whole bloody world and he's now recognized as the most successful singer musician in history selling over 2.5 billion records crazy! And he was crazy handsome of course but you'd never see Elvis on a talk show back in my day like you'd see John Lennon etc...... everybody except Elvis you had to go to Vegas or when he did the Hawaii broadcast he was a very exclusive star which help add to some mystique about him crazy crazy famous
@jlynn2436

@@shawnwright5332 wasn’t the Hawaii broadcast the first time they ever did that? I have never understood the “Elvis craze” until a few years ago. I always thought...”geez he’s just a human being”...but I get it now🤗❤️ I always hear “Elvis or Beatles?”...what side of the fence are you on? Lol My uncle absolutely LOVES him...and the more I learn about him, the more I listen to ALL his music and actually put myself in that time...I get it💓. What a lovely man and human being...very rare. I imagine just his presence alone, without even singing, was felt. I love that 🙏 Also love that he broke down a ton of barriers

@@jlynn2436 You should google how other Stars that met him talk about his presence and charisma were like no other. hell the man had his own entourage before there was even a thing as an entourage with a star. Imagine being so famous and powerful that you can just show up at the White House and they meet you or you have a complaint and you have a direct line to the White House name me another star that can do that crazy famous and I like both the Beatles and Elvis but before Elvis there was nothing he really did kick the whole rock and roll rhythm and blues sound off for the general public and then he's that famous & rich etc........ And yet he stayed very humble and his generosity was legendary says alot about the character of the man.cheers

My Dad met Elvis in Las Vegas. Elvis bought him a beer and chatted a bit with my Dad who told me he was one of the most laid back, friendly and generous guys. My Dad was working at the Hilton, I believe. Elvis had a big show there that night. After the show, Elvis bought all the hotel staff drinks! Strangely, my Dad looked a lot like him. He even got a gold horseshoe ring to wear on his pinky finger like Elvis did. They were both from the same general region of the country and had a lot in common. Sadly, my Dad died of cancer in Ohio in 2008. I flew there from California to be with him and played him my Elvis CD's in the room he was in just before he passed away. I always think of my Dad when I see anything about Elvis. I have been to see family in Tennessee, but have not been to Graceland yet. Thanks for sharing this. So funny, my Great Grandma on Mom's side was from Tennessee and my Grandma on my Dad's side was from Kentucky. Both women were great Southern cooks and often had a pot of pinto beans going. I still remember the smell of cornbread in the oven and beans with a big chunk of pork for flavor simmering on their stoves, fresh green beans from the garden. I think Elvis and I would have got along well. We had the same taste in food! My Grandpa raised Black Angus cattle. Nothing beat one of his bar-b-que hamburgers. Elvis seemed like a really great guy. It's a shame he died so young, but he hasn't been forgotten.

So true and I am hating how Pricilla is trying so hard to take from what she can still, 46 years later. She left him and so that door needs to close. We have definitely closed it. We are Elvis fans who truly loved him and she was and is just a gold digger along with her parents as they got from them what they wanted from blackmail. Thank you for this beautiful film. God bless you.
@summerjunebum
@summerjunebum Жыл бұрын
To be respectful, yes I commented about Elvis’s great humanity but that doesn’t necessarily mean I hate Priscilla or think that she is a “gold digger” is what you’re saying. It’s absolutely not true at all. Priscilla loved him and he loved her but she decided to leave him and it was an agreement from the both of them because of his career to be fair to her. And don’t forget that they both had affairs with other people because of their rocky relationship. They stayed friends and would often contact each other because they also had a daughter to raise. They would often talk about how one day they would end up together again, because they loved each other that much. So please don’t come here spreading and twisting information. Priscilla is a lovely, classy and humble woman who kept Graceland alive and opened it up for the world to admire. Yes she still makes money from it but at the end of the day this was what she was known for. She was known as Elvis’s wife and closest companion, and I don’t think that Elvis wouldn’t want that. I think he’d be proud of her for being one of the only people who kept his legacy alive.

Elvis was a Legend. He was a gift from god it was just a shame that god didnt let us have him for a little longer. He was so incredibly talented. He was also so generous and was always willing to give back what his fans gave him. He did alot for charity which isnt always portrayed when people talk about him. I have an opinion that he was devastated after losing his beloved mother who he was very close too and so was never quite the same after she passed away. He still gave his all for the viewing public and will always be the greatest entertainer with the most incredible voice.

Hearing all this, you realize how down to earth Elvis was. He and I have the same roots: Mississippi upbringing, and I was born same year as him. Like Elvis, I would rather have cornbread and greens than steak any day. In fact, I cooked some today. When Elvis was 13, he moved to Memphis. When I was 13, I moved to New Orleans. I just feel a great identification with the kind of person he was. I think had he not gone into show business, he would have just been a good old Mississippi or Tennessee country boy all his life.

What a wonderful movie.. thank you for sharing this.. it's so great to see the unseen movies of Elvis. I, of course, have seen all of his other public pictures and videos, his movies and interviews, but this was so special because it was a peek into his daily life with his family and friends. I loved listening to your memories and all the little details like the smell of the sweet pickles, the beans cooking on the stove, his birthday cake, the star hats, all of it.. Thank you for sharing this.. 😃

I was a young Marine in Okinawa, Japan when I heard Elvis died, at first I thought I miss heard because I just couldn't believe it. He was just two months younger than my Dad, I was just hours away from flying out to Korea for mountain warfare training so all the things about his funeral I didn't see for years later because of our isolation. Elvis took a lot with him, I mean that a lot of people loved him and had high hopes to seeing him around for awhile and he's still missed. 👍❤️🇺🇸

Helen Perez Yeah, it's funny to see Elvis being self conscious in front of the camera, but I guess he was just himself, not performing. It was so nice to see this, but so sad too, like a time capsule. He was so young, it was all ahead of him.....I wish he could have stayed longer.

Elvis really LOVED your Family. He sure was just a Hometown COUNTRY BOY, Who loved the simple things in life, as HOME Cooked meals, Family gatherings and LOTSA LOVE around him. Elvis 's Hollywood life was seperate from those he held dearly close to his heart. He sorta had two sides to of his personality he had to live. " I Love Elvis and He died on my 17th birthday and I cried for a week... I still AM CRAZY ABOUT ELVIS AFTER ALL THESE YEARS.

George: You are so right. The more you hear about elvis the more you love him. What a privilege for this family to have known him as a friend. Having him over their house and enjoying simple moments. It is lucky that her dad took these films. Something to have for the world to see. There was no one like him and there never will be. As I mentioned under separate cover - he was a chosen one. So lucky to have been around in part of his lifetime. Forever in our hearts💖

Thanks you so much for sharing your footage and story of your family and yourself enjoying Elvis as a friend!!! I am sure the memories are very precious to you and your family! This brought tears to my face with joy happiness and the love I saw Elvis showing you and your family and your family showing Elvis true friendship and love!!!! I've been on an Elvis binge in a way as I lost My Daddy last year to Covid and the anniversary of a year of his passing was last week its been a very hard few weeks! He was 73 ... He Played a Fender Stratocaster and an Acoustic and sang Elvis songs & Merle Haggard Willie all the "Legends" of country music ...... since I was a kid! Daddy even had those sideburns til about the 80's LOL He played at local bars singing He had a beautiful voice when He was in his 20's and 30's many honky tonks I am from Texarkana back then Texarkana was a hub for performers such as Elvis Johnny Cash Carl Perkins Roy Orbison Jerry Lee .. and others where they performed at High Schools & in my town an Auditorium there but on the Ark side of Texarkana its a twin city Texas and Ark bordering Hwy 69 was the hwy they traveled all through the towns to do gigs at various places Later named Rock N Roll HWY 69......... and of course the Louisiana Hayride they would go from Louisiana to Texas and Arkansas .... Actually Elvis's Cadillac back in 55 or 56 Scotty Moore was driving and He and Elvis got in a car wreck and the brake line leaked and the car caught fire there is a picture of it burnt on one of Texarkana's websites with history of him being there so much performing .... and the Arkansas Municipal Auditorium has historical Photos like a mini museum of Elvis Johnny Cash Roy Orbison etc ... I think the Cadillac was a black and white one that burnt and his Mom and Dad came to pick him and Scotty up lots of articles on all of that locally on websites! Also talks about Elvis driving around with the local girls and cruising around town! He ate at homes there with families even Watermelon Parties he came to... Crashed on couches etc resting up My Grandmother told me so many stories She saw him a few times at the auditorium This is long.... LOL But Thank You So Much Hope You and Your Family are well!!!! xxx

I just finished a book by Alana Nash in which she interviews and takes down the stories of Billy Smith (E's cousin), Lamar Fike and Marty Lacker. == Elvis a human being more than special, nature or God, we provide, a being here on Planet Earth, Marvel, who gave us many joys, with his way, tender, and electrifying, and his incomparable voice, wonderful voice , with his style and his energy, gave us life and joy, at the same time, I have no words to qualify Elvis Aron Presley, we miss him a lot .... he knows someday ... in some Dimension, we can see and feel the air of your grace, who knows, someday .... until one day, on the other side ... thank you for having this memory, recorded in this movie suit .. ...

Thank you for sharing these films they are priceless. I just watched the Latest “Elvis” movie last night and I was not Disappointed! People you have Go See this Movie. What tribute to the man who was a great caring person as you see in these home movies. Towards the end of the film it was almost hard to watch being a Great tragedy how he was taken advantage of. It was sad because we all knew how it was going to end. I Admit had alot emotion built up at the end that I held in. My girl said she some tears running down her face in the theater. At times you forget and think you weren’t watching the King Himself. That’s what Really liked bout the new film you really felt for him and reminds you how really good his music was. He will always be the first! I just recently turned 50 earlier this year and I’ve always been an Elvis fan. Partly due to my parents I guess who also loved him, but in another funny got see a lot of his old movies they would on a regional Tv station out of Duluth Minnesota. Being from Ontario Canada at the time with the old Tv antenna we could only watch 3 stations at the best broadcast out of Minnesota. One became my favourite station because it would run old classic films around the same time I got home off the bus from school. I would try watch them before my parents came home then hurry up and start my chores outside. They would run old classics films from The Duke” John Wayne, Lorel and Hardy, Abott and Costello, The Little Rascals Planet of the Apes, Godzilla and of course Elvis Presley movies which kinda fascinated me because at that time I thought he was just a singer the King of Rock. Being a guy back then in High School you never confessed to being a Big Elvis fan but I was. Oh ya the kids new Elvis and of course talk about because their parents had listened to his music but not cool for a young guy. For some reason I’ve at times I always felt more of a connection to my parents era than mine. Once in a while I share who favourite actors singers where back then but not much because my friends are going to understand the connection I felt to the “Duke” or Elvis, because that’s all I had to watch and I thought they were great. Still think they don’t because I was totally hyped when I heard about this new movie from KZbin and the reviews it’s still getting. It’s great to see Elvis again in the spotlight which he truly deserves and hope the younger people understand what he contributed to today’s music. Like I said he was the First! Love ya Guy and Long Live the King.
