okay but heres the critical issue with the whole derpy/who sibling relationship: they never made it direct, its entire point to refer to them that way falls flat when 1) the only name reference we get from either is derpy calling him "doctor" 2) never do the two refer to each other as siblings directly 3) you'd have to do some pretty specific research to even know this was the intent, sure if you're really into deep dives you werent gonna avoid this forever but someone like a casual fan would've NEVER known this

The Derpy and Dr.Whooves thing is so entertaining because like..The Fandom was very loud about that ship. There is no possible way that the writers where aware enough about Derpy to 1. Include her in that episode at all 2. Pair her up with Dr.Whooves Without KNOWING about the ship and the fact that it was a majorly popular one in the fandom. Which means..The choice to almost make them siblings is an act of pure trolling. The writer who decided that was 100% aiming to troll the fandom with it. And thats kinda glorious

So glad they cancelled the idea of Derpy and Doctor being siblings (plus it was around the time the fandom was shipping them, can’t miss that). But I wish that they used her original name, Ditzy Doo, for the show and merch. Muffins is alright but it’s more of a preference of food rather than explains what she’s like/does. Bubbles is good and Derpy is the most common but Ditzy is so underrated it makes me kinda sad.

Honorary Mention: Mother Country This episode would’ve not only been the first appearance of Pear Butter (or Honeycrisp as she was known), but also would’ve explained her backstory. The episode starts out with Applebloom asking Applejack about their mother to which AJ then tells a story about her. In this story, Applejack reveals how during a shortage (or drout i don’t remember), their mother Honeycrisp went to everfree forest where she bumped into a satyr. The satyr offers to grant any wish of Honeycrisp, to which she wishes that anything she touches would grow. Her wish is granted and she goes back to the farm and helps make the trees and crops grow. Things all seem fine and swell until Honeycrisp hugs Big Mac, causing him to turn big as well (this was apparently supposed to explain why he’s so big?) Heartbroken at the realization that she can’t hug her children anymore, Honeycrisp returns to the everfree forest where she bumps into the satyr again and becomes his servant. After Applejack finishes the story, she and AB decide to go on a journey to find their mother and rescue her. (Apologies if this is a bit sloppy, I just wanted to put this out here)

Granted, things change whenever the writing department has other plans for these stories, so they can alter them and they’d evolve into what we see now as a real episode. As for the rest? Yeah.
