Yeah, scrapped MOW2 had a lot of cool ideas from what was known, especially the character art and where the series was going. So to see Oda say he came back to SNK to finally conclude Terry and Rock's story after all this time is something special.

There's also a pick of Mr Karate Ryo with the black gi fighting someone in an unknown stage that I've seen. It's one of the 2 in game pics of the working game afaik.

I actually hope some of this characters show up in City of the Wolf, even if we got the classic cast back, some of these looks really cool, even the old Joe Student, I feel they still could use her, as some sort of rival for Preecha.

A fun fact you missed out on saying is that Lizardcube, the team behind Streets Of Rage 4, actually made a pitch to SNK to produce Garou 2 (in their art style) but were denied.

Kuan was repurposed for SvC Chaos during its tag team proposal that would've had her teamed up with Akira from Rival Schools. 2021kduck posted concept art by falcoon/Nona (Kuan with blue hair, Zangief, Urien and a young Rugal) and sprites (Kuan, Ralf, K') from a data disc a few months before the Garou 2 leak.

I fucking hate that most companies are "ye we wont share you this, but you can look at screenshots tho!" While Nintendo released the full Starfox 2 game. I would love for companies to released those things that never left the development stage to at least give us a taste of what couldve been

I could see Daniel Hale, Dolvic, and Gaoh showing up in some way possibly. Jess could happen but since anyone could be added they will probably go for the two boxers Rick Strowd and Franco Bash (Rick fans want him in another game finally). I'm curious if they will make a brand new unique character not based on another character, so far it's students of other characters.

Forget where I heard this but I think Ryo was supposed to reappear in Garou 2 under the Mr. Karate II moniker, I could be wrong though.

I wish (well, I dream) SNK would continue the devolopment of the original sequel to finish the game as it should be released in it's date. If properly and well done with love, for old SNK fans, it would be a invaluable gift. They could offer it in the new CoTW as an extra, like Capcom did with the previous Street Fighter games in SF6.

This cancelled Garou sequel was always something I was interested. Though I guess that goes with a lot of cancelled games or ideas since it always makes me think what could of been. I am glad we are getting a new installment but I did want to know what that original sequel would of been and how it would of affected the future of SNK games. Maybe some of the characters would of ended up in KoF like how the Garou characters were.

Yes, this game is actually NOT what MOTW2 would have been and is not MOTW2. It does however take place after the 1999 MOTW game.

I really dig ed & hale designs though they could be boring like karman from AoF3. They should combine their movesets and make one original character for Cotw. With design more like Ed.
