The Russian people..most all are deeply faithful to God..... my Gramma for as long as i can recall if I were out of the house upon coming home. ...would call me to her side... she would place her thumb and first finger to her lips.... call me to come near and make the sign of the cross on my forehead.... I never asked why...I just accepted this is Gramma. When i think back I give thanks as she was blessing me as i came back home from the outside world. How beautiful a gift she gave me... ❤❤❤

Thank you for your comment it awoke a forgotten blessing my beautiful kind Grandmother would give when I would come home safe. I’m Irish and was born into conflict in the North of our land Ireland. This blessing made me understand I must never hate my enemy, yes men die in conflict. But to hate your enemy is more sinful and destroying to yourself than your enemies. Best wishes Ireland.

A story of truth. We would do well to take the elders advice, one family at a time. This is God's plan but we are so stubborn and won't listen. May God's will be done.

And now if you are older by even a few years, the culturally acceptable response is "OK Boomer". Even in my most rebellious days, I knew that maybe my grandparents or other elders knew things I didn't. Now that rejection of wisdom is celebrated.

Only the grandfather was wise. Every other adult was part of the problem, so who do you listen to? The lesson is to think, consider your faults or you will neverendingly blame others until everything is ruined for them and yourself

I couldn't agree more. For ALL generations. Many commentators understood this story in a way: younger should always learn wisdom from their elders. However...it is painful to see..in the world around us...that in so many groups..it is EXACTLY the ELDERS who lead their youngest toward arrogance, cold-heartedness and selfishness. So sad...

This really is the spooky work of The Spirit ; this story couldn't have found its way to me at a more proper moment. I'm seventy seven and just begining to see how very different The World is from The Universe. And I needed to be shown how the two related to each other. But for that you need stories about running a farm in a small community and I'm a modern Western man. Russia is in such a good position to provide the necessary Education. God bless Russia and the memories of all her suffering. And God bless those rulers who can find principles more important than their own pride to show them a way forward. The stuff I usually amuse myself with is all about vampires, but this story really shows what it is that real vampirism has to do with real life. Amazing Love !

@markpapa.3711, I hope you take comfort in the Lord and are able to set up healthy boundaries each time they get pushed. While she gives you more opportunities to truly live in the spirit of forgiveness and love, she is unfortunately damaging her own soul if she is intentionally turning her back on God. May she have God's mercy, and may God's mercy shine on you, perhaps even through you, that she may rebuke evil ways. May God bless and comfort you always.

Such an injustice to the stories and their messages. I cannot bide the Ai voice and seldom listen to these. They are presented absent if the spirit which was present in their writing. Ai usage ribs people of the benefit of being able to work, to read and to share. The monotonous voices are like an empty vessel being struck mindlessly. It makes me feel sick to listen to like food with no salt, apples with no juice and men with no hearts. Who do we think we are desecrating the work of fine and noble writers?

Even though this comes from Russian Orthodox with some unbiblical doctrines, they still mention Christ and salvation. I think at this time the Orthodox church taught them. If only they had read the Bible and studied it. Either way there's much profit from these lessons. The churches today have gone Apostate because they disobey Gods command to study to be approved of God. This was all Prophecied. Jesus said the Narrow Path that leads to Eternal Life is found by few. I still chew up the meat and spit out the bones. I enjoy these stories despite the truth of Biblical Ignorance and Religion that has killed millions, i despise Religion and preach the Gospel as I am a Follower of Christ and not affiliated with any organized religions. We meet in Homes and live like the book of Acts church. Christ will return for nothing less
