Was new to Altercat - now a fan. Bronca Buenos Aires is fantastic!

Bronca means "fight" Looking at the album cover you have an idea what to expect. I haven't heard it but I can't wait.

Wow, what a refreshing video. I have to give it to you, the Spanish words you tried are complex, and you did fantastic. (there is no Argentinian language; it is Spanish) Argentinian music is known for its extraordinary depth in terms of lyrics and melody. Music written during the dictator's era often has powerful emotional lyrics and serious instrumentalization. I grew up listening to a lot of Argentinian music. I became familiar with performers like Cerati, Charlie Garcia, Fito Paez (my favorite and from whom I collect his entire discography), Piazolla, of course, and a few others. Still, I have yet to experience Argentinian Jazz. This opens a new door of exploration. I love this video. It's the kind of material I can't find anywhere else. It's so unique, informative, and fun to watch. Great job, and thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I'm running down the lists on Bandcamp and the one thing I get reminded of is Kip Hanrahan recording a 70s film soundtrack.

Hi Ken , Interesting label, I'll see what I can find on CD here in the UK.

The CD editions don't get very good distribution unfortunately. Sounds of the Universe or Juno carry most of the catalogue I believe. Otherwise: www.alter.cat , shipping to the UK is very, very affordable.

Fascinating Ken. Was able to sample many of these on Qobuz. Vocals on Un Hombre de Buenos Aires do remind me of Les Double Six de Paris, who I actually like.

I don’t care for them, but that’s the vocal group. I was trying to remember thank you.

Thanks Ken, great video. I’m Argentinian myself (in the Netherlands…) and been chasing originals of Jorge Lopez Ruiz for years, but never found in decent shape. Bronca is the best! I have the Altercat reissues, which are really good I think. Great that you are always showing and reviewing different records which are not seen anywhere else.

Unfortunately as Brazillian, I have to watch a video on YT to discover an artist from my country.

Check out Werther's album too (1970)! That is one astonishing album from Brazil, unknown to many.

Noosy the vinyl? The vinyl all of it is dead silent.

there's also classic black vinyl available. Haven't had any issues or negative feedback with the coloured editions though.
