Patricks head is on the ground,and an eye pops out from it, meaning he's still alive.

About the "lost animation" it's not completely unknown how it ends, what do I mean be that is there are 2 more parts for the story, part 2 in which patrick comes back, he forces spongebob to tie squidward to a chair, forces spongebob to drive to a graveyard and forces him dig graves for him and the baby clam (yeah it's pretty f*cked up), how ever before patrick kills spongebob the skeletons from that hat episode shows up and turing him apart for disturbing them, spongebob and the clam escapes and reunits with squidward however we see in the end that patrick regrows his body which make sense cus a he's a starfish. And there's part 1.5, the prequel for part 2 which shows us how patrick escaped and how he survives later on, he gets paid to kill some guys and then starts to plan his revenge on spongebob, it ends with patrick at spongebob and squidwards door, which is the start of part 2.
