A barrage should be constructed at Hastings across the presently flowing Hoogly........ to divert water from ....hoogly/Ganga/Bhagirathi...to adi-ganga to revive the ancient holy river of Bengal

Oh yeah ? What about the house and people living on the Adi Ganga's dried up bed ? Right now im in a place, an apartment right above it. The parts of river became small ponds.

@@raavanraavan2948 I don't think so. Anyone even with the slightest iota of knowledge knows the Adi Ganga still flows as a channel, although degenerated. It flows as a proper channel around 30 km downstream of Kolkata up to Surjapur and a few km further from there all the way to the Gajmuri-Dighipara region past which only its traces can be found as creeks but NEVER as patches of swamps or isolated ponds.. as a CHANNEL all along!! (ref- Bandyopadhyay, S. 1996)
