man, why can’t country music still be like this? This is awesome! I’ve just been itching for years to figure out who sung this song and the title of it as well, but now I have and I’m happy I did.
@MacNerfer14 жыл бұрын
It's pretty clear this is filmed in the city because of the lyrics. If you need to ask, you weren't paying attention. Their other videos are filmed in the country. Some of you country newbies or youtube surfers are confused because of the rock beat, but this is definitely still country music. Good luck trying to find a rock song that sounds like this.

Let me tell you...I'm from a small(ish) town in Central California, surrounded by agriculture and farming. I feel INCREDIBLY out of place in California...I wish, wish, wish I could live in a small little town somewhere...I can tell you I wear boots and Wranglers, and I also wear shorts, t-s, and skate shoes. Thank goodness for good country radio stations that help me get my fix, lol. I would venture to say I am far more "country" than most people who live here, for sure.

Country isn't about an accent or where you were born. Its about love for your neighbor your country and you God. It's about not being afraid to get down to the nitty gritty and do hard work. It's about working for what you have, not having it handed to you. It's all an attitude, and personality.

This was flimed in my home town in Grand Rapids, MI and I know for a fact that you can live in the city and still be country. Just because its cheaper to live in the city doesn't mean that your not country. I know more city people who are and are proud that they are country then some that actually live in the country.

@Gunstingg exactly I was born city but I was raised country. No shoes, home cooking, wood chopping, home schooled and country music loving country. We always had the radio on country in our house. ( except when our one cat changed the channel cause he liked rock and roll.) Just cause you live IN the city doesn't mean you have to BE city. Country is a feeling and not just were you live.

I was born in a small southern town. I live in the city because that's where I can make a living. The restaurants are nice and its a quick drive to Best Buy but aside from that it's not that great. Traffic is a nightmare, lots of unfriendly people, bad neighborhoods, etc. Its never really dark at night. Country is more about where you're from and how you're singing than WHAT you're singing about. Country is a genre, not a list of ideas or things you can sing about. And yes, country has gotten much more pop-like, but they're catering to what's popular now and what people will actually listen to.

because even though grand rapids is the "city" you go ten miles and you are in the country, just like the song says. i live less than an hour from where they filmed this on a dirt road and i'm as in the country as you can get w/roads that go now where into state gameareas and 4x4's and fire lanes. but only 10 minutes from million dollar homes on lake michigan. its all where you come from and how you were raised.
