It is easily recognized by its diamond-like plates that stand upright along its back and its spiked tail. Fossils of this creature have been found in the USA and Portugal, dating back to around 155-145 million years ago. The purpose of these spikes & plates has been up for debate. Today, it's usually agreed on that the spiked tails were probably used for defense, while the plates may have been used for display and thermoregulatory functions.

I'm from Vegas and when I was a kid we used to have this gigantic arcade underground on the strip called Gameworks (they tried reopening it in like 2015 in a new location but it had less games and experiences and closed down permanently last year). Well this game was the highlight because Gameworks hired some engineers to rig a whole ride setup where you would literally spin and flip in accordance to the game. It also had Dolby sound speakers to make it seem more real. It's been like 20 years since I've played it and I've never forgotten how cool that 4D version of this game was.

@SonicXAmy121Gamer7 жыл бұрын
ARWEI0 honestly I think Sega should make a new arcade Jurassic Park game since they’re still making arcade games in Japan. Maybe a tie in to Fallen Kingdom using TLW arcade as a basis. I mean, House of the Dead is getting a revival in the arcades this year using UE4, so Universal get them on it. Maybe even finally a home port with revamped graphics (or better yet being able to play as either similar to Master Chief Collection) and new exclusive levels since the game still clearly has a following and they’re getting increasingly harder to find.
@ARWEI07 жыл бұрын
Ultimately, it all falls on who owns what licences; but I agree. Raw Thrills did release a new JP Arcade game in 2015, and some units even had the air-ride system like the 94 game. I would love to see even more JP Arcade games, and HD ports of older games would be cool too.

Love this game. I found it at the Lost Ark arcade in Greensboro, but only the red gun worked. It has an excellent soundtrack (on real hardware), great graphics, and has a very diverse scoring system. The game was also ahead of its time as the arcade cabinet used sensors on the screen to detect the movement of the guns, which also eliminated the iconic white flash on old school light gun games... however, the guns were notorious for being very problematic and expensive for techs to keep buying. I replayed the Lost World machine in our Mr. Gatti's arcade, and man... either the sensors on the screen went bad or it's the LCD monitor itself (handling the game's resolution). I can't even shoot the powerbar up top in stage 1. :\ I only ever saw the first Jurassic Park film, but I'm sure this game was more entertaining than the sequel.
@ARWEI07 жыл бұрын
Why no love for the second movie? I didn't think it was all that bad, it had its flaws sure, but not terrible... I hear you on the faulty guns. My local Dave & Busters still has one, and they are constantly trying to do their best to "fix" it whenever a problem arises. Then again, they bought the recent 2015 Jurassic Park Arcade game... /without/ the moving air-ride system... so.
@ConversusVans7 жыл бұрын
Never saw the 2nd but I did find another Lost World machine at Monster Mini Golf in Marietta, GA. This is just like the one at Mr. Gatti's except the sensors weren't dead and the game was actually aiming properly. I'd love to come back to play that machine soon.

This video is educational and entertaining! I'll have to go back to some parts of the video and read more of the information about these animals. Dilophosaurus, in real life, did not have retractable frills or blinding venom. They had sharp claws for tearing prey apart. Since one of the tyrannosaurus was a female, it was a tyrannosaurus regina, which means "tyrant lizard queen". I didn't know the sauropods in the game were mamenchisaurus and I've never heard of Geosternbergia. I didn't encounter them in the game. By the way, I played this game by myself and with a friend! Cannot remember exactly what the people behind Dinosaurs said, but it was something along the lines of combining the T-rex and the Canotaurus into one thing. Hence why it may have some T-rex like features like size for example.

I have a story about this game, When I was nine I played this game at the local Dave And Busters, I was trying to save a guy from some raptors but I ended up killing him instead, I know it was just a game but I actually felt guilty, because I killed someone I was trying to save

Shark fan of the sea I always felt the same way. Or equally as bad if I shot him by accident

Shark fan of the sea I just got mad at the game when I killed a civilian.

Sega did too good a job making the T-Rex look scary as hell.

It's kinda funny how Chameleons and Carnotaurs were mixed togeather, but then again Dilophasaurs were givena frilled neck and a spitting ability. Also I wonder if the brown and green raptors were meant to be different breeds, or if they were just recoloured and had new noises added to them (brown raptors snarled, green raptors hissed), just so the player didn't feel like they were shooting the same dino forever (even thought that's what you ended up doing anyway)
@ARWEI07 жыл бұрын
Demonizer68 I think it's to differentiate between make and female raptors, but that too is a good possibility as well.

The idea is that we don’t know everything about dinosaurs. If we cloned some back to life it’s likely some would be able to do things we didn’t know they could just from the fossil record
@MrKillerman476 жыл бұрын
Or they could suffer from side mutations caused by them being hybrids

Maybe the best part about this game is that they added those little extra steps if you are playing in 2 player mode. The fact that every boss could take one of the players and force it to kick it while the other must shoot to the targets for the other to get free is a little add that bot many shooters have. In fact, i remember being only in this game and later in house of the dead 3 and 4

31:30 that factoid scares me dude...aside from the big brain they may have resorted to cannibalism.....i never thought it would be possible for them to do that. but i can see it. god i still love this arcade game as much as i did the house of the dead 2

First time I played this was on a trip to Greece with my Parents. The camping site we were at had a shopping area, where there also was a Jurassic Park Arcade. My cousin and I spent all of our holliday money on that game. Good times, makes me miss the old Arcade machines, it is sad Arcades are dying :(

And lightning bolt, this game predates Raw Thrills' game where it had a freeze gun that can shatter dinosaurs to death even if it's a non-lethal gun.
