In a small town near me when the lottery first came out, an old codger told bar patrons that he won the lottery. He bought a ticket with the Friday winning numbers on Saturday morning. He had a newspaper to show the winning numbers. Everyone saw that he had the winning numbers but no one checked the date on his ticket. He said he needed money to travel to the state lottery office. People were lined up to give him money. He stayed at the bar drinking on his new found wealth. He fooled them all.

That's how a person gets credit cards etc to buy stuffffff... jus saying/agreeing to make the payments. Really small town and everyone believed it by his new "lifestyle" change. {from the bank loan} Fake it til ya make it only.... he never made it. That's normally how it is with really rich people, they live the high life on the spot without paying a dime. The bills rack up everywhere they go but it all goes to their accountants later on, instead. Rich people, tend to get the most "expensive" things for "free" from the top brands/businesses/companies just because of, who they are. The expensive car dealership & the whole town were all seeing money signs. "We'll give him everything because he won the lottery, he's good for it & then, he'll come back to our business and actually spend even MORE money" Something in it for, them. #Greed

I’ve been married 16 years. I trust my husband but, if he told me he won the lottery, I would definitely need to see proof. Anyone reading this…make sure you have an open book policy with bills, checking/savings accounts. I also did social work for 15 years and I saw women and men who were in the middle of divorces or separations or their loved one passed away and they had no idea how much debt they were in. Their husbands/boyfriends/partners forging their names for credit cards, loans etc. Financial autonomy is one of the most important parts of a relationship. Stay informed.

I agree there's something abnormal about the way he speaks it's kinda of robotic almost. His face and body language shows he lacks empathy or emotion. The only time we see any real emotion is when he realises he's going to prison the morning before court. I'd tend to agree with your assessment that he probably has some kind of sociopath scale and is potentially very dangerous and likely to re-offend. He clearly showed no regard for the harm he was causing to others around him he ruined so many lives and thought a letter to a judge would fix that. What stood out for me was the cruel thing he did with to the farming couple, leading them to believe he was buying their house and watching them incur thousands of pounds in costs and pack up all their things from the house and move out, knowing full well he would not be moving in and it was all for nothing. And even laughing while he watched them dismantle the family home and pack everything up. That is not a person who has any empathy or guilt or consideration for others he's harming. That was a modest farming family with children probably struggling to make ends meet as small farms like that often don't even make a profit.

I bet he told his girlfriend that he wasn't married. In order for him to tell and stick with such an elaborate lie, he had to have been lying like a rug before he met his wife. You don't go from zero to an 8 million pound lie over night.

I did some research and sadly he ended up doing similar to two other women in the mid-late 2010s, conning them out of thousands of pounds. He is believed to be on the run from police, apparently hiding out in Vietnam. No remorse, repeat offender. His wife in this video died of a heart attack at 47.

He is also believed to have used the named Howard Walmsley and Howard Hemmings" "Aged in his early 60s and originally from South Yorkshire, he is wanted in connection with three high value romance frauds, during which three victims lost money totalling more than £400,000." "The offences are reported to have taken place from September 2014 onwards. The victims lived in locations across the UK including Doncaster, Sussex and London." @funkybuddhalnit Do you reckon this guy has changed his name by deed poll? The interviews with his solicitor showed paperwork with Walmsley on it, and that’s also how the police referred to him. What are you even trying to point out? Do you know how disappointing and troublesome it was for them - they actually moved out in short notice because its not everyday someone just walks in and gives a cash-upfront deal. The happiness is unimaginable and they even gave a hefty buyout profit (when they were struggling with the current upkeep of that property - it was really a "thank the stars" moment for them.) It was just extremely lucky and fortunate there was ANOTHER buyer that really did buy over the property after this problem. (Though there was no coverage if the amount was higher or lower than what that fraud individual offered.)

I recently read about a double murder in Ontario, Canada (somewhere close to Toronto), with similarities. The couple (with kids) were given tickets to go on a family reunion trip to Greece. The man had no $ or credit left to cover their expenses thus revealing his financial mis-management to family- especially his wife. Who thought they had over $100,000 in the bank. He'd lie for why their credit cards were refused & bank cards wouldnt approve payments - leaving his wife needing to ask him for cash for all her purchases, for several yrs. She worked & her pay went directly to the bank but she indicated she had no access (& seemed to be ok with it, as simply a 'traditional' marriage ). Without dwelving deeper into all the lies he told coworkers, childhood friends, & family, to constantly get $ from them, it all culminated in a brutal, callous, cold blooded murder of his elderly mother & her husband. One night he douched them in gas & set their bedroom on fire, holding the bedrom door shut to prevent their escape. I dont recall all the details as to how that was supposed to fix his immedite need for their upcoming trip, but my reason of bringing this up, is the similarities with the wives in these 2 cases. This case shocked me in terms of how disinterested his wife was in the family finance. Especially as she worked full-time & had a decent salary. She accepted suspicious explenations for why her bank & credit cards stopped working & for 2 yrs she needed to use cash only -which she had to ask her husband to withdraw for her (not asking why his cards seem to work). Until the trial, she believed him, (including his denial of involvement in the murders ofcourse). Outside of an busive relationship, its difficult for me to understand why anyone would trust someone to this extent & remain in the dark while her paycheck continues to be deposited into an account she cant access. Why she didnt call or visit the bank. My apologies, I dont have links to verify this story, but it should come up in a search, for the guy who burned his mom & her partner to death in an attempt to hide his financial problems (& cash in on the life insurance )
