Hello I am a new subscriber from North Eastern Pennsylvania. That is awesome you count your things , I put a basket in my closet by the door & when I find something I want to part with I put it in there when full I take it to the senior center as they sell things to make money for their trips & special events . My biggest mess is the basement will start that today after church . I have a hard time getting rid of things ,but I made progress yesterday I put in newspaper, in free ad section 3 lanterns for free they went & so many wanting them . Best tip I heard when doing large sort outs: don’t get bogged down by paper.Put all of the paper in a box or laundry basket to be sorted out later.Put on a movie that you’ve watched before (so you can concentrate on the papers) and just go through it at once with a shredder,trash bag and some file folders on your coffee table.Stack the categories on top of the folders until you’re finished and you will take care of them completely,in one sitting. I’ve done this,it works!

The book you had from when you got married. Reminded me of the book that my Mother in law gave me. When I was pregnant with my first child. It was a book about womens health and pregnancy. The book is from the 70s. It was a good for a laugh.

For me I found it hard to watch, because books are life and it is the art of the author. I don't obtain them just in case, it's because I want them to read in the first place. I don't put my hand up in the buy nothing group just in case, let alone let them just sit around just in case. If your unsure just don't say yes when something comes up. I am glad your at least donating them back. Not a criticism, just my view, books are life

Appreciate your respectful comments x There's a few things which I have talked about before but I did forgot to mention as I was rushing to get the video edited. Some of these books I would have purchased myself from op shops or what ever 50c / $1 so was in the mindset of 'oh it's only small I will read it' life has gotten so busy and I don't make the time to 'sit down' and read. I use audio book a lot and so a few books I have listened on audio so some physical books I am happy to pass on. I was helping a friend with her little street library at one point and so we had books coming and going. If they sat in there for a while she would cycle them to me to pass on , some I forgot about so they just piled up. The books my son donated he is really funny about collecting 'all the same author or a series' so he got rid of a few that he has never read just got it from an op shop as it had 'dragon on it' he struggles to read and doesn't want me to read to him but he likes the theory of books. There are a few that I said I got from the buy nothing group and it was because it' was a new book and they piled in a few others they had saying others did collect and they wanted to declutter so I didn't say yes to 'all' of them just some came along for the ride LOL. I also did want to read some of them at one point I've had a few of these for 3 / 4 years but my tastes have changed. I love reading about royal court which is what some of these books were about but on the back it was all about scandal and betrayal and i know that's what it was back in the day but mentally and my heart it like it's time to move on. There are current authors who's books I won't read due to that too. There are new authors that I aline with a lot more and are current / traveling / doing tours where you can discuss the book (that I probably will never get to but still). I was planning on getting into some authors as they are popular on tik tok but delving into some things I see it's not for me and I can't read that fast to do book updates so I just need to let these books go and bless someone else and pour my love into what I do have. There are other books I need to declutter too which you might not enjoy but that's a whole different story.
