I can remember watching it back then as a kid, I was only about 6, the only thing that really interested me back then was the cupid/angel in the opening scene, I wanted to be an angel because I thought they were magic lol, the stories in the show went way over my little innocent head at the time, in fact, in hindsight, watching it now, I'm surprised I was allowed to stay up and see this at that age, it sure was more than a bit risqué at times, even though it was in a comical kind of a way, it's a shame about good old Richard, he passed away far too early, only 31 and here I am in my mid 50's, it doesn't seem right but such is life, Paula Wilcox is still around thankfully and, yeah, she was a bit of alright in her time, wasn't she? A pity I was too young lol, thanks.

In reality, I don't think any women did! He was hugely famous after Porridge and Rising Damp, feted and adored everywhere he went. At one stage, he befriended football legend George Best, and they went clubbing together. Beckinsale and Best, out on the pull - both incredibly handsome and famous. I imagine all the party girls' knickers flew off when they were within a mile of those clubs!

God he was beautiful - how could she resist him? They really should have cast any actor but the delicious Richard Beckinsale, it just isn't believable she kept saying no and didn't rip his clothes off!
