Strangely enough, I was told about Harris in 1973. I was working on a farm north of Inverness, and one night a bunch of us ended up at a party in Inverness. Rolf Harris, was appearing at the theatre up there and I got talking to a guy who actually worked in the theatre itself. Id asked what it was like having Harris there, and I never forgot what he told me. He said he wasnt a very nice guy, in fact he was a pig, and they made sure none of the kids on the show were ever left alone with him. Then surprise surprise 30 years later the truth came out, and I wasnt surprised at all after what Id been told 30 years earlier.

I'm from the USA and I've never heard of him. It's crazy to think what these people were doing, thinking that "no one is looking." But their behavior in public gave us indications of what their proclivities were in private. That says he was VERY comfortable doing despicable things behind closed doors.

I was only small when Jim'll fix it was on TV but even at my young age (5+) he gave me the creeps, obviously at the time I didn't know why but as an adult I understand why. Same with Gary Glitter and even my mum had an "uncomfortable feeling" as she put it about him (Glitter). I wonder how many more of these "stars" are of "that" persuasion. And have they said who the sports presenter is yet? That story seems to of died down.

The BBC is littered with pedo’s. There was and is still a huge cover up going on there. As far as I’m concerned, if you cover up, you’re just as guilty. Plus you have high ranking pedo’s in the police, government, and other influential places in society protecting this scum. So as for them getting away with this for so long, it’s hardly surprising. But as with saVILE, the truth WILL OUT! even after his death. It all comes to fruition in the end 👍 Personally, I’d also be questioning to why many of these pedo’s are still walking the streets after relatively short sentences? Example is Harris here. Someone obviously thought r@ping children and destroying countless lives in the process means you get to live out your golden years in peace as free people! Where was, and where is the deterrent????

While Rolf was serving time in prison, they gave him full access to the internet. I ended up getting into an incredible conversation with him on KZbin of all places, where he mercilessly trolled me. At no point did he ever admit guilt or show any remorse for what he did. Instead he continually blamed the victims. I got so fed up with this, I actually phoned the prison from Australia and informed the prison governor what he was doing. After investigating my complaint, they eventually stopped his internet access. (I believe my alerting the prison of what he was doing, actually made it into the British papers at the time). His posts were very disturbing, not to mention disgusting in nature. I was probably one of a small few, who actually got to see this man for who he really was and not the persona he portrayed to the world. I recall a travel documentary Harris did around 1980. He returned to the Northern Territory for it. He interviewed a young lady who was the hostess for tourists in a resort not far from Uluru, aged perhaps 19. It was fairly evident she was only recently in the workforce. After a while, it became evident that Harris was trying-it-on, in anticipation of his star power influencing her to meet him off-screen. The lady was taken aback and his plans failed, because the interview had a very abrupt ending -- Harris could not re-film another segment as he was due to leave Alice Springs that night. When the allegations were released, two well known radio personalities in Perth (one male, one female) revealed how during one studio visit by Harris, he literally groped the female in front of everyone in the studio.

@@sim3otto His conviction against the 8 year old was overturned when it was proven to be false. He was convicted with the flimsiest of actual evidence in the other cases, the main one being the friend of his daughter who was 18 when they had consensual relationship which lasted for several years, but only went sour when she tried to extort money from him which he refused to pay, another one was from an Australian girl who had already sold her story in the press before being used by the UK prosecution and the other case where the dates and details did not match up and explanations were changed during the trial yet he was still found guilty. There was a book written by an ex-police investigator that provides much more compelling evidence that I can provide. If it had been anyone else (not famous), the evidence would not have been enough to convict anyone, but he was found guilty mainly as a result of what Jimmy Savile did and got away with. If you research his case, there is certainly reasonable doubt about the accusations made against him which means he should have been found not guilty. (It is unsafe to convict anyone just because someone says they did something and operation Yewtree advertised for people to come forward promising the would be believed - many seemingly thinking their stories would not be thoroughly checked out and they would get the compensation "promised" by inference in the media). In my opinion based on having read the convincing book written by the investigators in the case.

I was very surprised when Rolf was convicted. He had been one of my favourite entertainers when I was a child and also as a young adult. I can remember right back to his children's show Hey Presto in the 1960s right up to his animal shows in the 90s. Nothing ever appeared to me [either as child or as an adult] of him being in any way ''creepy'' or eccentric or suspicious [unlike Jimmy, although I considered Jimmy's eccentricity as an act and admired his charity work]. When Rolf was arrested I considered that the allegations were almost certainly compensation-motivated and expected him to be acquitted and exonerated in no time.
