I've watched about 5 or 6 of your videos here in the last hour and oh man, finally finding someone with a wealth of knowledge on tidal bass fishing and experience in my local area... @AlexandertheGregfishing i got restless and went out today. Put some of your tips to the test. 42 degree water, caught a limit for 14lb2oz in just about an hour and a half! Hit a couple Marina piers with a cut down 4 inch trick worm on a dropshot.

I live in Fredericton New Brunswick Canada. The Bay of Fundy has the highest tides and it back up over the reversing falls in Saint John city every six hours. It back up to Fredericton. I am a riverbank fisherman here in Fredericton

@Alexander the Greg fishing Not yet. Temperature plus 3, the wind keeping it colder. The weather officials said that our spring going to be late coming with the colder air hanging in. It going to keep me off the riverbank till late June. I have a feeling that we'll get higher flooding this year from the snow. It also depends on how much rain we get in the next few months. Our fishing season starts April 15. I don't fish during flooding season. It not safe to stand on the banks of the river. A few years ago the DNR and the government stop people from fishing during the the flooding. We have the Mactaqauc dam up river from Fredericton. It has 6 or 7 flood gates to release water from up above the Mactaqauc dam to keep the upper Saint John River to a certain level. Fredericton get high water from both ends. Some year the flooding get really bad from Fredericton to Saint John city and in the upper Saint John River in other towns in the north west of the province

New to your videos. I am glad i found someone who can be very helpful and useful on learning how to fish different scenarios. I moved to southeast Georgia a few years ago and had never fished any sort of tidal river system. Your vast knowledge of tidal waters is going to very helpful in my learning how to fish these near by tidal rivers.

What color and size frog do you like to throw in tidal waters???
@AlexandertheGregfishing2 жыл бұрын
I almost always use the larger frog. I have had good luck on black, sexy shad, white and leopard colors. I think you just need to mix it up and see which one works best under the conditions and water color, and certain rivers seem to favor certain ones, probably because of the water color.

Yeah. Fished a divisional there. If the population of fish is low it makes it difficult to pattern them, but I believe these principles still apply.

The main thing i've found for where i fish, southern Tombigbee/Tensaw delta, for summetime in particular is when the tide is coming in and the water is pushing into a creek i tend to catch pretty good numbers within the 1st 100yds into the creek. Tide falling creates the opposite with the majority of bites coming from the mouth and within the 1st 100 yds from it. Even better if the mouth of the creek has a hump or hole just outside of it. The in between times where the current is minimal in the shallower creeks the fish tend to hang on the outside edges of laydowns and suck up closer to the bank and roots when current picks back up. Main river i like to target rootballs facing into the current in the Tombigbee. Especially if i can find them around a max depth of 10-15' on a channel swing bank. Less experience on the Tensaw but fished down there last week in Miflin lake and just above Live Oak landing. Froggin', spinnerbait, and a bandit 200 in Tenn shad did the heavy lifting. Picked off several more on a jig.

Hi Greg, recently found your channel, your info on Tidal Rivers is spot on and should be required viewing for anyone wanting to improve their fishing success. After six State Teams, two Mr. Bass titles and Buddy success, I hung up my tournament gloves. Haven't fished competitively since 1998. I don't believe we were ever together on same State Team. Continued success with your competition and channel.

Hey Al. We were on several state teams together. Winnipesaukee, Connecticut River, Lake George, Kerr Reservoir. Made my first of 28 state teams in 1989. Thanks for connecting.
