The real reason why cheesing in low MMR is so effective is that even if your initial units kill only 1-2 workers, your opponent will not have the ability to rebuilt them, so you'll be in an indefinite worker lead!

I doubt Harstem or Lambo ever had that new player experience playing StarCraft. I know Harstem moved from Warcraft 3 and started with DT rushes

@@sevenpolar3483 SC2 was actually my first RTS and also one of my first PC Games (as i played console only before). I started with 0 experience in the practice league back in Wings of Liberty and didn't even know how to use hotkeys for example. I spent most of my very first games just reading through the abilities and how to produce different units, so i was quite a bit worse than the players in this game :D

@@blackholeinacan i'd think the tendency is definatly going towards more and more players starting out with sc2. back then in the wings of liberty times there were plenty of high level players originally coming from either warcraft 3 or broodwar. nowadays we have players like clem or maxpax, who are younger than those games.

So im quite sure the deal here is: sender is a long-time watcher of SC2 cybersport who had never played a game himself. He registered, played some AI and plasement games and got THIS as one of his first real games. So, his mechanics are not existent, but he understand what every unit does and what counters are. And he is matched against proper noobs who have no clue but will not forget to mine for 2mins.

You could put someone who have never played a single RTS game, let alone a single game other than maybe Mario when they were like 3 years old and they would win against these 2 quite consistently. I am standing by that sentence and am willing to prove it, currently trying to contact some friends who never even sat in front of a PC for gaming purposes. If you guys can contact any of the players in the video, I'd arrange a showmatch between them.

You definitely haven't seen mass drone switches: a new player, paralyzed by panic, tries to read all the info on the screen and then after 4 minutes into the game accidentally presses the D button

i think you would be surprised! although the two in this video lacked any skills in micro or macro, there were certainly some decisions made. the protoss seems to know about cannon rushes on some level judging by the pylon and forge switch several minutes into the game. the terran, against a new player, would likely have been left to build all his production in the natural completely unchecked, and maybe at about 10 minutes into the game walked up the ramp with a solid 20 marines, plus a handful of mech units

No they wouldn't. I let one of my gf play sc2 campaign and all the buttons and keyboard and mouse was overwhelming so she didn't finish the first quest even (build 15 marines). She had never played games at a computer at all, but do play ML at her phone a LOT.
