As 2021 comes to a close I want to thank Alex and the rest of the filming crew for the many amazing videos that have released this year. I keep being amazed with the map building skills of the crew in races like this. The transitions are so smooth and seamless between existing stuff and props. And the math with the size and radius of props works out. I had one go at building a map and it did NOT go well...

My friend can make a track in about an hour but he's made a lot over the years so it takes a lot of practice and figuring out what works, also need decent map knowledge to really be creative

The "spinability" of a car is almost entirely bound to whether it's keyed with the notoriously awful 'Advanced Handling Flag', something R* implemented not long after GTA V Online started drip-feeding dlc cars. Years ago when I was more active with modding I could tell you what the full line-up did and did not have them, but I've since drifted out of that circle for so long I don't know anymore. Then again the Online dev's have gone back and forth with adding the flag to cars that didn't have it previously, which is evident when a car you loved suddenly will spin out after touching a curb when it didn't before.

Haven't been playing GTA V in ages, but I remember putting offroad tires on cars tended to avoid the curb issues. Did that to my T20 and it was heaps more stable.

One video I would love to see would be a race / STH where Alex uses an eye tracker. The reason being is that it would be cool to see what Alex is looking at while racing / running from the hunters, etc..

An interesting thing to note about that first race: The thumbnail image was from right at the very end of the GTA recording. If Alex had triggered it a moment or two earlier, he would have missed the big crash. That race was very lucky indeed.

A chicane is a point in a racetrack where the racing space is artificially narrowed by barriers.

The Chicane is the twisty bit of the track, often in a kind of '~' shape, that slows the cars down.
