Perk is locked in on past accomplishments and not on the games played today. There's a reason the Suns are not very good and Golden State is in decline. It's not that Steph and KD aren't great players and some of the best to ever play their position, but they aren't the best in today's game. It's like listening to old people saying they walked to school every day going uphill both ways. As for Luka, he seems to be destined to be judged by the team surrounding him rather than the load he carries every night. There's a reason he is statistically the most double teamed player in the league.

While i am not saying that he is not intelligent, his basketball-knowledge and IQ is non existent because he never needed it. His horizon ends at scoring. Depending on bias, it is ok if has some, if he thinks f.e. that Embiid is better than Jokic, fine, he just is not able to understand what jokic does as a center, even if Shaq is giving Jokic as much respect as it gets, he just sees Embiids scoring and his defense, which is OK because Embiid is a fucking monster, he was an OK-ish choice as MVP last season. Other than that, when american analysts tries to push the agenda for american players, it is absolutely ok considering that the Top 5 right know are not from the United States.

Luka could also do 40 points per game next season, 10 assists per game and 10 rebounds per game and they still wouldn't consider him MVP...and to be honest that wouldn't even surprise me...The excuse he's in the Defense isn't that good, it's just pointless... what he doesn't have in defense he gets twice as strong in offense... that should make up for it all. I also think that Luka leads his team very strongly, of course they are not in 1st or 2nd place in the table, but without Luka they would certainly have been at the bottom for the last few years, that's as certain as amen in church and that in turn shows me how Strong, he leads the team to success even without being in 1st or 2nd place. In my eyes, Luka has everything it takes to be called a top player that many can't even come close to...
