There must be a reason why Luka was traded. Maybe it's his work ethic (heard he's now the 7th heaviest player in the league) or something about his injuries that people outside of the Mavs organization and Luka himself are not willing go tell to public. You don't trade top 3/4 player in the league without a good reason

I really believe that the league(silver) had something to do with this. The fact that no other team was informed is really suspicious. Here’s a list of teams that could have offered a better trade. Okc, spurs, Memphis, and Utah. Those teams either have tons of picks, a great young player or a combination of both. There’s just no way they ignore all this and say yes, let’s trade you to the lakers for less. I’m not a conspiracy theorist but I just can’t make sense of this. Something is off

Assuming that the league itself didn't orchestrate this trade, I can only assume that the Mavs have discovered something bad about Luka. Either some medical issue that is going to derail his career or something in his personal life that would get him in a lot of trouble if it came out. Is there some Watson/Tucker style lawsuit that's going to show up in the near future? Dallas didn't shop around with other teams. They get rid of him as soon as they could to the one and only team they approached about a trade.

I think the NBA front office knows Lebron is retiring soon and noticed there is no superstar in one of the biggest markets so pushed Mavs to do the deal just to have a superstar in LA
