My kids live just minutes from the scene. After hearing these podcast interviews it doesn’t sit well with me knowing there could be a person so evil is walking amongst us all. I think Luke deserves a re trial. Putting a kid in jail as a trophy gesture of giving Jodie justice is horrific. It had to be the right person not just any person. RIP Jodie 💜

I have just read the book Innocents Betrayed by Dr Sandra Lean, there is no way Luke Mitchell committed this crime. No evidence at all, plus none of his DNA at crime scene etc. This book is well worth reading as it hows the lies that have been told regarding Luke. There definitely is a killer walking around in the town Jodie was killed.

EXCEPTIONAL interview. As always your freestyle questioning and genuine charm puts the interviewee at ease. Interesting that you have followed two previous interviews with this one. Mr Mullins comes across as an honest, decent man. Almost hidden in the middle was the most fascinating exchange for me! The McCanns...if I had been suspected of being involved in my child's disappearance I would have INSISTED ( inadmissible in court or not) on having one in order to clear any suspicion and allow the investigating authorities to concentrate on other avenues. Just my opinion of course. Sending greetings from France James. Keep on keeping on! xx

@Brain Tweedie the police stitched him up if u watched the documentary last night the police officer was saying to him u killed Jodi......also the person that they can't name 4 legal reasons and the same person who confessed to killing her was her brother who for 3 weeks before it had started having psychotic symptoms hallucinations harming others etc the papers failed to mention that tho n that he confessed to it aswell as being sectioned 6 weeks after her death........ hmmm so the gran finds her but can't remember what she was wearing hmmm I imagine that the clothes u wore where the ones covered in blood personally I would have stripped and bagged every item of clothing that I had secondly the cousin was one of the moped boys who conveniently cut his hair and took 5 days 2 go 2 police and conveniently they can not explain where they were at the time of Luke's murder hmmm ok all a bit too convenient ain't it we now know Jodi was not murdered there she was moved n whoever done it would have had to have been covered in blood yet luke who was arrested at the scene was forensically searched and quess what nothing not even a fibre this lad needs 2b let out n the cops who put him away n are now coming forward saying he was set up should have their pensions wiped or paid back because there is now 6 cops saying it n all this talk that there was nothing like that since really does nobody remember Robert greens Aka da vinci rapist n Peter tobin himself killed that poor girl cpl years later jodis dad was a cop her bro confessed but Luke's still inside xx

I've always been in 2 minds about LM's guilt. That was before I watched these 3 videos. Now I'm positive he's innocent. The treatment that this lad has received is disgusting. I seriously hope that every single person who contributed to him being convicted is held accountable. The police, courts and even members of the Jones Family who changed their story to help in his conviction should be ashamed of themselves. Nothing will make up for Luke missing out on so many years of freedom but I hope he gets a huge compensation payout.

@@AmandaAlexandra47i was local to area in 2003 and started reading about the case again about 5 year ago, 70% certain that he was guilty. That has increase to 99%+ as time has passed. lots of discussion on other forums it would take some compelling new evidence of innocence or someone elses guilt that wasn't already dismissed at trial or appeal by experts to sway me. i actually think theres a bigger story about innocence fraud here given sandra lean's checkered past, private interests like mullins, PI firms, non independent forensic labs for hire. a whole exploitative industry sprung up around true crime and guilty people are exploiting it for notoreity, gain, and to sway public in their favor see also jeremey bamber , david gilroy

Polygraph tests lack scientific validity; there’s no valid data to demonstrate efficacy and the physiological basis is shaky too. So there’s two big burdens of proof it just can’t get past to begin with. It’s a pity James English didn’t do a little more research into the subject prior to the interview. My position regards Luke Mitchell is that there is no evidence to convict him of murder beyond all reasonable doubt. The burden of proof in a court of law is the scale burden in science however even so, the “evidence” was entirely circumstantial. The media’s behaviour was reprehensible and Luke deserves a retrial. There’s enough public interest in this case to warrant one. Unfortunately, the wheels of justice run slow and in order for a retrial to be granted, there are certain legal points that need to be met. I’ve long been skeptical of the justice system relying on 12 ‘ordinary’ people to decide upon ones guilt. I’d far rather have people trained in critical and logical thinking. Humans can be stupid. The police work, which led to this case going to trial was shoddy. Unfortunately the early 2000’s was a decade in which people (as they still are today) are judged upon their label; “video nasty’s” lead people to commit violence’ was another classic example, despite there being no scientific pathway for this notion . It wasn’t just that the media painted a picture of Luke, much of what was said wasn’t even true and it appears some of this information was leaked by the police themselves.

I served a life sentence here in Scotland, and was in Shorts prison way before Luke, asked for a polygraph. My AD told me it wasn't worth the paper it's written on. Don't get me wrong I was in shotts, at some of the time he was there but the boy was behind wood at the time so never met the boy. Loads of miscarriage of justice happen. I am living proof. If these lie detectors come into play then its basically if you dont take 1 then your guilty, its bad enough if you dont take the stand and give no comment interviews. In joe steeles case and possibly lukes then these are the only 2 i know of that they would benefit whereas is could tell you about 101 cases where somebodys did the crime and walked at court so sometimes we need to be careful what we wish for.

Donald probably got a back hander as in money ,everyone has a price,he has got other people off with the person having way more evidence against them than luke had...The police fucked up that crime scene and if they never got someone people would of lost there jobs and promotions etc,so they had to make sure luke was found guilty,Even the prison officers knew luke was innocent i was in yoi polmont when luke was in and it was common knowledge that luke was set up and the prison staff said that luke would be out within a year or 2 on appeal and this was when i was 16/17 i think so 15 years ago roughly and yet here we are.....no weapon no DNA no blood on him,how could he get rid off all that evidence within such short space of time?no blood of hers found in his house,and then why would he do all that then lead the straight to the body?If hes been smart enough to do all that he would defo be sart enough to distance himself from the crime scene....the police fucked up and Luke was scape goat,also there was used condom found near body yet that guy was let away with his answer being he masterbating near there near the time,what are chances of that happening....come one...wake up how many other people are sitting in jail innocent after a set up by police....There is another case its the essex murders they guys are innocent and wont get out as like luke they wont admit there guilt as they know they had fuck all to do with it...(SCAPE GOATS)thats what these men and woman are who get done like this,The papers are most to blame for lukes guilt,as jury would of seen all this about him and already made up there minds before trial started...its a fucking joke.

not finished watching this episode yet but i do enjoy your podcasts james. One thing i will point out is that you never done yourself justice by not jumping on the fact corrine told us that during lukes polygraph there was glass panels and could see along from rooms 1 to 5 (13:40 corrines podcast). And i know you picked up on it bcoz of your reaction and wouldve liked you to point out to terry that she told us this so he could say "its a lie" because hes quick to point out that wasnt the case and you never followed this up and looked uncomfortable . Also i watched a documentary on bbci player last night called murder in suburbia and the accused ended up refusing to take the test in the end at the point the polygraph expert was in the prison. His name was Don Cargill the chairman of the british and european polygraph association with 38 yrs experience so he is the highest in the field.

I was in the room as an observer when the polygraph was conducted. There's one solid wall and four or five glass "boxes" built off from that wall. Luke and I were sitting with our backs to the wall, Terry was facing it. Anyone who's been in Shotts will be able to confirm the layout of those rooms - nobody's lying. When Terry said the guard was standing "behind him" he meant behind him, outside of the glass wall and door, not behind him in the room. Hope that helps!

@@drsandralean8036 Im afraid it doesnt! unless you can explain, im familiar with the agents visits and i understand that Luke couldve seen the guard from over terrys shoulder making faces is this correct? However Terry clearly states that he does the polygraph to the persons BACK and can tell on the charts that they are not sleeping etc (38mins) but ive seen Lukes polygraph and theres a white wall behind him so why change the procedure? If hes facing the wall he can open his eyes, NO? EDIT : VOICE OF POLYGRAPH CLEARLY NOT BEHIND LUKE
@drsandralean8036
@drsandralean8036 5 жыл бұрын
@@andywilson2216 Terry said "in the modern test, the person has his back to the examiner" - that's not how it was done back in 2012. I don't know why they changed the procedure, or when - (I'll ask Terry and come back to you with his reply), but at the time, the way the tests were done was with the subject facing the examiner (you'll notice Corinne's test is done in exactly the same way). So, yes, Luke could see the guard over Terry's shoulder because he was sitting face to face with Terry, not with his back to him.

Thanks for the information because when things like this get brought up, if there is any flaws in what’s been said then it doesn’t do Luke any favours. This error on terrys behalf is what left the door open for the 2 anonymous to say he was meditating I feel it should be redone for Luke sake so there is nothing left for scrutiny like showing the people how the results are read and not just telling us. Polygraph isn't 100% so not reliable. To enforce its use as if it was 100% would be a disaster. He's not facing the fact that people can't recall or know every detail he assumes they do. We cannot allow a polygraph test to become the jury. We just need to provide an astute jury for serious cases.
