I've been looking for a series just like this. So glad there is one! I do firewood and milling in real life and started with a little chainsaw and an axe, so I appreciate the survival factor, especially since I can relate 😂

If you don't mind suggestions: Sell off the truck, get a winch and a tractor. You can haul 4 logs at a time, and if you get the measurement mod you can cut them to an ideal length. That way you can maximize the profit you get for selling logs. Any bits that are too short you can stockpile until you can afford a chipper. DO NOT get the Vermeer chipper mod. The yield from that mod is less than 10% of the vanilla chippers and can't take larger logs. Yes, you will lose some transport speed with a tractor but being able to haul full length logs will keep your profits well ahead of what a pickup can do.

Great video. Love the hard start survivals like this. Had to laugh though at “Will be easy to back in to (the mill) but harder with big rigs” and then you crash in to it trying to spin around 🤣 Looking forward to seeing how it plays out. I’ll be making a similar series once we have a more dedicated map to logging as I don’t like playing the blank canvas maps personally (I know, I’m in the minority)

Great start. Remember, when selling logs for money 6m is the best length. The little skidsteer cant handle that on bigger pines like lodgepoles but you should get 4-5 meter pieces easy. Also the small skidsteer will struggle to put log into the black log trailer.

Thanks for the tips! I've got a plan for trailer loading that won't require any lifting, hopefully it works. I'm kind of forced to get a little creative with the limitations I have placed on myself.

I will definitely need to start doing that at some point. My one little plot has limited trees so it won't sustain me forever. I am also not sure how much money I can pull out of it before it is fully harvested.

@@hugz6559 Anything but baron tree striped landscapes. Everyone says how beautiful the maps are then does their Saurman impression, "Tear Them All Down!" and gets busy turning them into wide open baron industrial zones. Better design, less maximizing

This is where I got the mod for PC www.kingmods.net/en/fs25/mods/58887/international-cv-series-v2 but download at your own risk as its not officially supported. It is a modded version of the base CV truck that allows you to tow a couple more things and have some additional bed setups.

You'd be better sticking with just your chainsaw. I just spent over $30,000 service cost on 1 medium tractor ! Intresting series though, you really have got a LOT of patience mate !!! Ps what is your economy difficulty ???

@@hugz6559 wow, thats tough. Its a good idea though. Because of the nature of farm sim, I actualy watch lots of youtube while playing.pretty much you and mr sealyp n farmer COP. Thats impossible when I play war thunder of course. On console, this current gen and last gen games have been super dumbed down. Very disapointing, but 40 years of gaming , i do NOT want to go ba k to Pc gaming. All those boot disks and endles incomlatibility wore me down 20 years ago. Ha ha ha. Farm sim is always a good few weeks gaming though its one of the rare console games worth my time

Hey Hugz, I am trying to replicate your play through, I am just experimenting at the moment and I have discovered if I super strength on and try to delimb the trees they disappear, is this right? I am keen to see how this plays out and lived following your series

If you're using the lumberjack mod any extended press to engage your chainsaw will start "grinding mode" and after a couple seconds it will destroy the whole tree. I would recommend getting rid of that and just using the measure mod/powertools for super strength if you want to use it.
