Seriously considering it to replace my 85, which is great but is so far from being Macro that I don’t use it as much as I’d like to. The only bad thing I have to say about Lumix S Primes is about the focus ring longevity. They feel relatively smooth when new.. but they get worst and worst with time, even when you never use MF. I own the 35, 50 and 85 (bought the 35 and 85 a few years ago and recently got the 50). The 35’s focus ring is now a bit rough, but the 85 is ridiculously rough, especially compared to the 50 which is brand new. I take very good care of my gear (obsessively) and use AF 99% of the time… so I just don’t get it. The 85 now feels like i’ve been throwing it in a sandbox. Apart than that.. incredible value!

That's interesting to hear, I was considering entering the lumix system but it doesn't sound like the build quality is that good. I wish their primes like the 85mm had a better minimum focus distance too

I would get that lens instantly if I was still doing portrait/events photos. And you can do amazing macro too.

I love 100mm, and have a few already, but I think I might hang out for a 135mm. Unfortunately, in Australia, the price is bank account-breaking.

Nice review, have you also tried the lens with the Sigma FP and FPL and what do you think of the combination? And maybe compared to Sigma 100 2.8 if you have experience with that too. thank you!

I haven’t tried it with the fp yet, may try it out when I do some future reviews for my macro shots. I will say I’ve used the sigma 100mm macro this one has WAY faster AF and is so much smaller of course

The results are stunning, the haptic feel is a little meh, compared to a Sigma. And I WANT to have an aperture ring :D but hey this lens is great (now on Leica SL2.. as FPL is gone)

I can guarantee you I shot most of these shots in c4k, 23.98fps, 10bit 4:2:2 All-I. V log with a custom grade
