The 3/4 is meant for platform sections. Take Los Angeles Union Station's platform system for example. The underground walkway/concourse is situated to intersect the middle of the platforms, so on each side of the hall, there will be a ramp with platform "section", like Platform 14 "A" and 14 "B". The departure board will indicate which section (or half) of the platform the train is located on.

Another great video Fred. Below is a response letter to the railroad in the video. A letter to the management of REG Railways, the waiter I received was unprofessional by drinking my champagne and chocolates right in front of me. He also misplaced my luggage and had to be sent to the destination so I had no clean clothes in the morning and no pajamas for when I fell asleep.
