You’re killing it anyway. I still say it’s one of the most underrated channels on KZbin. The technical information is amazing.

I could definitely hear that belt slipping on the high rpm times. The blower pitch was whining and then just stays constant up top with no change. Nice time and runs.

Thanks. I went back and zoomed in on the boost gauge and was shocked when I saw it only holding 15# during the run!

Yeah I get it. Not much racing in a few years, but should see more soon!

Bummer about the pulley, but I agree that is pretty cool to go mid 10’s on a so-so pass. If that thing goes 1.5xx short times, it might crack into the 9’s!
@98saleen4 ай бұрын
Maybe soon! Between a larger upper pulley (2.9 compared to the 2.7) and a set of new Hoosier 28-10x16 slicks, it just might be slightly faster! LOL!

Love the mach1 ghat cars got a lot left in it . 1.5 60ft and that car could go 9.90’s such a torque monster . Sucks about the pulley

It's a beast for sure. I went back and blew-up the video of my boost gauge and was shocked. It dropped down to around 15# during the run. So not only was it slipping, but it also had about 10# less boost than it was supposed to!

@@98saleen damn , I knew that thing was a serious monster but that just ridiculous. Things going to seriously hurt some feelings once sorted . Those are some insanely good numbers for circumstances

Interested to learn what caused the pulley/belt failure.
@98saleen4 ай бұрын
I got a new 2.90 griptec pulley on the way. It's slightly bigger (2.9 compared to 2.7) to give more belt wrap and slow the blower speed down some.

Sorry if I missed it, but what are the power mods done to the Mach? And a 3.0 Whipple would definitely make things better. I wish the 2.3 blowers weren't so expensive to port and polish otherwise that would be a good option too. Especially since you're already running high boost numbers. There's a guy on YT that made ~850whp on a ported 2.3 vmp blower, and another guy on the FB pages got into the 8's at +150mph with a ported gen 1 2.3 vmp. So it's possible
@98saleen4 ай бұрын
It's the Gen 2 VMP 2.3 that now has a 2.9 upper and 4# lower. I just went around the block and still saw about 22# of boost but it held steady. At the next track outing, it should run low 10's over 140mph if the belt doesn't slip and the boost stays consistent. The engine is built with billet rods, ported heads and L+M cams on E85.

I think you could hit 10 flat with a bigger top pulley and better tires. Which track did you go to?

It's got a lot left for sure. It's Fayetteville Motorsports Park right off I-95 at Exit 46.
