‘Sup folks! Hope you’re full of the joys of spring this Thursday and thanks as always for your continued enthusiasm for the stuff I’ve been putting out this year… Tonight we’re kicking off the adventure in Atlanta (and the surrounding area) with a crack at a food challenge seldom defeated…not even by the dude from that television show… Hope you like it and I’ll be back on Sunday at 7pm UK time with the next instalment! ’Til then, stay insatiable :) *Special thanks to @HiHoneyMusic for the intro track in tonight’s video 🎶

Mate that's so true, makes me feel bad for us here in the UK - the other side of the Atlantic people just seem to be automatically friendly, but here in England you seem to have to earn peoples good graces!
@fatrunner2 жыл бұрын
@@Treborbobuk I think some of it is the tipping culture in the USA. Staff want it to be busy so they get more tips. Therfore they have a vested interest in the business. In the UK it's often people on low fixed wages who don't really care how busy the place is or if people come back.

@@fatrunner Sounds logical, also adds up with my experience that, once you've been to the same place a few times and the staff sees you appreciate their work & tip them decently (which some people just doesn't seem to do) they tend to warm up quite a bit.

Let me just say that I'm glad more places embrace eating comps and do not try to sabotage or get upset when a pro comes in, makes for a much more enjoyable video and makes the eateries look good too. That looked horribly massive to me. No way I could eat even a 1/5th of that. Edit: Welcome back to the US.

One fifth of that is literally a normal order. And I think you might be right about that. I'm thinking their normal orders are very generous. It's huge plate of food. And they put five of them on that plate. 5 pounds of tatter tots and another pound of other ingredients for a total weight of 6 pounds.
@deadinthewater2182 жыл бұрын
Yeah it's awkward as all get out when they go into places that aren't so obliging. It's like, "why the hell do you have a food challenge then?"
@justine8387 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, it seems so weird to me, why would you do it if you didn't want to use it as an avenue to promote your food through passive social media?
@OptimumTaurusАй бұрын
My understanding is Adam always pays for the food anyway-- him winning a food challenge usually doesn't cost the place anything more than the T-shirt. And it's good publicity to the places he goes. The places that intentionally make the challenge harder for him come off really scummy.

I once had some people from Germany come into the bar I work at. They asked me what a tater tot was. I said "it's like a bite-sized hash brown." They asked me what a hash brown was. I learned then that there wasn't really any way to explain what a tater tot was without making it sound kind of gross. Now I know that they do have hash browns in Germany, they're just called rosti.
@pflaumenaugust876 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, we have some variation of tater tots in Germany - we call them "Kroketten". But our Kroketten are just a basic, mildly seasoned, deep fried potato dough, no onions, no garlic. They are served as a side dish, for example to some roast with gravy. We know "Rösti" (hash browns) as a typical Swiss specialty.
