Been a while since I've been mackerel catching. There was lots there too bad they weren't all big , you would have had your limit in no time lol. Love the measuring board , neat idea.

Best eating fish in my opinion but they got to be fresh. Great bit of fun catching them to. Looks like a good sign there. I saw some playing on the water last weekend while cod jigging but I didn't have the rig to catch them.

Are they coming to the surface when driven up by predators or do they always do that? Most t8mes I would think it was a predator but I never fished for macrel.

I'm guessing one of two reasons, but only guessing. Escaping predators or chasing bait fish/food. Great question though. Hopefully someone will know the facts on this one...

I can't remember the exact size here, but it could be 26.8 cm so just under 12"... But if anyone is fishing here in NL please research the exact size limit. I knew it when I built the board.
