I absolutely love the Lake District. Me and my wife hope to move there next year from Nottinghamshire. My parents used to take me to the Lake District when I was a child and can remember the excitement of travelling across from Northern Ireland and going up and down Ambleside in my scooter. The scenery is fantastic

What a lovely change of pace, so nice to see and hear about where yoi grew up. I recently took our 2 toddlers back to my home town in Leeds from here in Australia and you are so right it does bring a tear to your eye seeing them in places you were once a kid. Was lovely to see your Mum as well that you talk so fondly of, he patting you proudly when you were taking set me off 😥

Reckitts Blue was a little block in a tiny bag that would dissolve in the water. You added one to the whites wash and it would give the white a blue tinge making it seem gleaming white. Lovely to hear you reflect back to your days there. The umbrella vid clip was just too funny. Lovely too to include footage of your Mum. Thank you for sharing it with us. It's the time of year for nostalgia as we are just about to enjoy Christmas but remember those who won't be here to share it with us. Lovely video. 💖 Julie in Sheffield.

Brilliantly done video- I must say that I prefer the natural MacMaster persona to the exaggerated one..very touching video of your Mum on the balcony…she was a sweetheart! It looks as though your Mum and Dad raised you in a beautiful, idyllic setting filled love and community support. Those were the days, eh? Your little ones are so fortunate to experience their dads’ hometown. Keep up the good work and don’t feel you need to act the part of The MacMaster, just be yourself. BTW, you have such a sweet friend in the lady with blonde hair that you take on outings to various restaurants. I apologize for not knowing her name!

Being in the USA I don't know a good from a bad English breakfast being a coffee only breakfast person. What I did love was your stroll around where you grew up and the fond memories of same and being fortunate enough to have videos as permanent memories. My memories back in the early 50's are just a few photos that have survived many moves so most are in my head. I have 1 recent photo of the house I spent 2nd through 6th grade until we moved when my Dad died when I was 10. What I really loved in your walk a bout was the walls all around the road and walkways. Are they all hand laid stones? However they were put up they're beautiful. I would have loved to live in your home town and that "river runs through it" is also spectacular and memorable. Well it was nice walking back in time with the MacMaster's quieter half.

I lost Mum to cancer just before Christmas 2 yrs ago. Sadly I wasn't allowed to see her due to covid. I lost Dad 2 yrs previously just after Christmas. I miss both of them so much and Christmas does make the memories flow so it is bittersweet. I contacted the Loss Foundation and they were very helpful. It helped me a lot to talk to others who had lost close ones. Never be afraid to ask for help. Great to see Lee instead of MacMaster.

Sorry for your loss🙏. It's terrible when a loved one passes away at any time but it was made extra difficult with covid. What a beautiful little place. You would have done your mum proud to have made this video as you Lee and not the MacMaster. It’s so nice to go back in time and reminisce. That little railway bridge a lovely spot. As for the museum cafe that’s a wonderful place to eat, no wonder your mum loved it there. Glancing through the window of the museum that looked like a highly collectible Ford Mexico, which are fetching good money now £60/70k. Shame you didn’t enjoy the breakfast that much. Yes alway best to leave adders alone you can tell them apart from grass snakes by the zig-zag pattern on their backs. They rarely attack unless threatened. Lovely vlog Lee.
