He voiced a sports announcer for the Death Watch games, we never see him or his partner he talks to in the game, played by Greg Proops, known mostly from Whose Line is it Anyways. Three things I loved about this game: 1) The art style reminded me of those old dark gritty comics your parents definitely did not want you reading 2) The soundtrack was a banger especially Look Pimpin 3) I’d adored most of the boss designs (except Marvin and the Shaman screw those two) my favorite will always be Von twirlin Killer a guy dressed as nazi Darth Vader with wind turbines for arms.

A new MadWorld Video?! In 2025!? Yes sir... Awesome. This game I can tell you right now, seriously needs a remaster. I think in this modern day, a switch or even switch 2 port would be really awesome. Hell, even if they port it to other consoles, or PC it would be good. I can't believe Platinum games are letting their first game disappear and be forgotten on the Wii, it is good. And I feel Jack Kayman should definitely be one of their mascots alongside Bayonetta. He only got two games, and the first one honestly was the best. But, he shouldn't be forgotten. The game is fun, funny, charming, edgy, and full of love. It has an awesome soundtrack too, that I actually bought the CD of. My biggest complaint with mad world is the motion controls and lack of a camera. I feel this game would've been so much better without them. Or even on another console. I think it would have even sold better too if it wasn't on the Wii. I think that is partly why the game is so forgotten, the time frame in which it released and most importantly what console it released on. If Madworld was a 360 and PS3 title, I bet it would've done so much better, and not just be a distant memory in a select few peoples minds.

@@Group-935 I definitely think the game would do really well witn a remaster. They could just do what they’ve done with NMH and Skyward Sword and assign the motion controls to the right analog stick. Even though the motion controls do turn the game off for some people, I’m in the mindset that the Wii’s unique hardware is what made the weirdness of Mad World come to life in the first place. I would really love to try it without motion controls though just to see how much it affects the overall experience !

@GuacaTypeBeat Yeah, man. So true. The motion controls aren't bad, I would just prefer they weren't there. But, they do make for some fun moments. Also, yeah... It would be cool to try the game without motion controls. Do like you said, map the motions to the right stick, or what I would like, they map the moves to certain buttons. A remaster would be nice, but I unfortunately think that is nothing but a pipe dream. Peace, man. Good video.

My girlfriend later my wife, got me this game for Christmas one year and we had a Nintendo Wii for I remember being floored at the both the top violence Christian Town Nintendo of what such a thing get past there ratings board or ethics board or whatever they have over there. The game is fun but I'm going to admit after playing through the stages counter get a little nauseous It's not something I would recommend trying to complete one sitting there I never did beat the game because once I got going on no more heroes I didn't really want to play much else. I wore that game out hopefully you do a review on it the original one, the classic, the best. No More Heroes for the Nintendo Wii

I remember MadWorld very well. Played through it several times trying to find as many unique kills as possible and cranking up scores. Got myself the soundtrack on disc, and still listen to it regularly, alongside the pseudo-sequel Anarchy Reigns. I'm not one for hip hop at all, but this music was just so unique and energetic, with my favourites being [Body That] and [Crimson Rain]. But I also remember the terrible publicity it received back then. Moms everywhere were clamoring for this game to be banned because "it doesn't belong on a family platform". In Germany, it briefly became the case-in-point for old-ass politicians to whine about "killer games turning kids into violent maniacs", because you got points for murdering people - which was a talking point long before MadWorld, but was obviously made-up fearmongering to control game distribution back then and establish a scapegoat. They jumped at the opportunity, and the game was indeed banned in Germany.

People keep saying this needs a remaster or remake for modern consoles/PC but unless it includes motion controls I just don't see the appeal. The game itself is not that mechanically complex and changing everything to button inputs just takes away some of the charm this game had.

I think there's two ways they can remaster it successfully. 1. Remaster for the switch/switch 2 using motion controls like they did with Skyward Sword HD and No More Heroes 1-2. and Option 2. Turn the right analog stick into a replacement for motion controls, like they also did for the Skyward Sword and NMH 1-2. That way we get the best of both worlds, either with classic motion controls and the people that don't want it get a pretty decent alternative!

Lately I’ve been looking for more reviews & “retrospectives” of MadWorld, the fact that there is another new video discussing about MadWorld in 2025 feels so good. Til this day, one of the criticisms that I will never understand about Madworld is the fact that it’s “too short.” Imo, and I think a lot of gamers nowadays will agree with this, it’s better to play a game that is about 10-15hrs then a bloated video game that has over 100hrs+. And while MadWorld itself doesn’t come close to that mindset of a 10-15hr experience, I still would prefer playing a game like MadWorld that is short in length but packs in so much creativity, humor, and enjoyment into an experience. But anyways, it’s a shame we don’t have a MadWorld Remaster. There have been an array of 6th & 7th generation games getting remasters, to games like…(to name a few..) -Sonic X Shadow generations -Shadows of the damned hella remaster -Lolipop chainsaw rePop -Marvel vs Capcom collection -Dead rising remaster -Wonderful 101 remaster The list goes on and on. If MadWorld were to get a remaster, I’d pay up no questions or concerns for my wallet lol. The soundtrack is unique, which I’m typically not into the hip-hop style, but it is solid. The graphical art style choice of a black-n-white comic book style game still holds up even 15yrs from now. And the fact the Jack is just a badass character to play as, going ham on these poor souls is just icing on the cake for such an awesome action game. I feel like Sega should be behind the idea of a remaster and fund a sequel but alas Sega won’t…I’m sure PG* would be down for it….especially given their current situation…

Played this so much as a teen. The only complaint is if theres alot going on, you can cet some pretty awful slowdown or fps drop. Shame the wii only had 88 megs of ram. Being stuck on the wii probably really limited this games potential. If there would have been a way to release it on all 3 platforms at the time, i know jack would be at least as famous as travis touchdown.
