Majority of DNC are Progressive Democrats, but leadership are still corporate-owned centrists who spend millions of dollars on attack ads against Progressive democratic candidates during their Primaries, leaving only the corporate-owned centrist candidates standing, and they lose! Attend your local DNC precinct meetings, educate your community, and support Progressive democratic candidates DURING their Primaries, by sending contributions & people power directly to their respective campaigns 😊 FDR Democracy 2.0 ✌ 😊

"We've been cowed, bowed, bought off, distracted, and become willing participants in our own extinction" - Liz Berrigan. Now, for those of us who still care about our democracy we can add, tired. When Trump first became President in 2016 I was age 66. It had not been long since I had retired. I was protesting weekly and weekends for some outrage or other he'd committed. The refrain from most of those protest participants was "I've not protested as much since the 60's". Now here we are 8 years later. I'll be 75 in another five months, and after the trauma of Covid and illness, I'm exhausted. I can donate to selected good Dem candidates fighting to save us (and where are they?), but it's time for others to step up. Half the time in our marches we'd cordially to citizens and most had absolutely no clue what was going on in the world. That's where we're losing this whole thing - ignorance and disconnection.

@@chickenfishhybrid44lower class Americans are able to go to college through the use of student loans. Rich people send their kids to college. Some kids work their way through community college and get scholarships to go further. Student loans are for the people who are trying to move up in life. They still work their asses off, nobody is just given a degree. Then when they start working they pay more taxes. Giving them a break, instead of, for example, the auto industry or the banks, is a very small chunk of change in comparison. European countries do it because it’s good for their countries.

OK. I’m an old Dem (really old). I believe that this country was built by immigrants, including my own ancestors. I believe that immigrants enrich us socially, economically, culturally. To me the Statue of Liberty says it all. I have seen immigrants work longer and harder than native borns and that without them our lives will be harder because of that phenomenon we talk about: white parents don’t train their kids to do those jobs - so, among other things, our food supply is going to both shrink and get more expensive (basic supply and demand). I believe what I learned in church as a child, that we are called to give welcome, hospitality, dignity, and mercy to those in need, especially to strangers. I know that humans make up borders and rules about crossing them. Birds have more freedom of movement than humans do, not because we are not capable of movement, but because we pick a trait and a reason and tell each other: “you can move around inside this fence, but you cannot go outside it because I said so” I have listened and heard as folks put forth arguments for border restrictions which they turn around and negate by another argument, but the commonality of both arguments comes down to racial/ethnic control and cleansing. I also know that when you slap a lid on a pot and turn up the fire, the contents will explode.

ALL BULLSHIT ! BUT WE REMEMBER ! WE remember the women’s march (vagina hats and all) the day after inauguration. We remember the 4 years of attacks and impeachments We remember “not our president” and the “Resistance…” We remember Maxine Walters telling followers to harass us in restaurants. We remember the Presidents spokesperson being kicked out a restaurant. We remember hundreds of Trump supporters physically attacked. We remember Trump supporters getting Doxed, and fired from jobs. We remember riots, and looting. We remember “a comedian” holding up the President’s severed head. We remember a play in Central park paid with public funding, showing the killing of President Trump. We remember Robert de Niro yelling “F" Trump” at the Tony’s and getting a standing ovation. We remember Nancy Pelosi tearing up the State of the Union Address. We remember the total in the tank move on the mainstream media. We remember the non-stop and live fact checking on our President and his supporters. We remember non-stop in your face lies and open cover-ups from the media. We remember the President and his staff being spied on. We remember five Senators shot on a ballfield. We remember every so-called comedy show turn into nothing but Trump hate fest. We remember 95% negative coverage in the news. We remember the state governors asking and getting everything they ask for and then blaming Trump for their problems. We remember a Trump top aid verbally assaulted in two DC restaurants. We remember people banging on the Supreme Court doors. We remember that we were called every name in the book for supporting President Trump. We remember that Hollywood said they would leave after Trump was elected but they stayed. We remember being called Nazis We remember being called Deplorables We remember being called Fascists We remember our sitting President calling us "garbage" and Kamala (and the media) trying to tell us to "get past it because Biden doesn't matter anymore" A SHIT STORM IS COMING ! Astead, thank you. The middle class people I know and work with are not disillusioned. It’s been difficult to believe that there is a democracy for more years than many want to believe. Democracy was bought off long time ago. Listening to this today makes me realize how out of touch mainstream media is. The past two weeks have struck rapid fear through the likes of the marginalized. Understood that this is what they’re looking to do. If the last two weeks is an indication of what should be expected in the next 4 years then you’re correct. It will be a “totally different landscape” -and that’s the language that works (I guess)for this podcast.

We must speak up. I am 75 years old and would rather fade into the woodwork. But if we don’t, we won’t have any woodwork to fade into… Stand up like the Honorable Bishop Budde did! Speak facts to their lies. Professor Historian Heather Cox Richardson said that we can and should RESIST them. They are not a majority in many areas. They are usurpers with a mean agenda. We need to stand up to them! Begin with prayer🤔 Prayer For DisUSA Dear Lord, so many are feeling anxious, worried and stressed these days. We ask You to fill us with Your peace and help our minds to be at rest. Help us to remember that no matter who is President, You are still on the throne and fully in control. We pray that honesty, fairness and truth will prevail. We ask that You would grant us Your wisdom and fill us with Your love, that we might overcome all that divides us. We humble ourselves before You as we pray, Lord and we ask You to heal our land and shed Your grace and mercy on this nation. We ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen

People need to be educated on the immigration process and why there is a backlog of processing asylum seekers.
@wanderlustworldschooling5433 күн бұрын
They are intentionally misinformed to prevent them from actually being educated about any of it. MAGA seem incapable of distinguishing between legal and illegal immigration and what the law protects and provides for both groups. I posted about the cancellation of the LEGAL appointments and had someone comment about ILLEGAL immigrants as if they had anything to do with my post. They then went on to complain about their tax dollars being spent on ILLEGAL immigrants, failing to understand that the only thing ILLEGAL immigrants are provided is a refusal to treat their medical emergencies. Our tax dollars are mostly spent on communities trying to adapt to an influx of LEGAL immigration. They just lump everything together and complain that everyone is illegal and all of our tax dollars are going to illegal immigrants. 🤷🏻♀️

Always remember this: If you and Millions of others had not, and do not, however bad things are, they would have and will be much worse. This is not win or lose, winner take all, like our elections make it appear. How many Americans, People of Color, Women, etc. want to go back and live in the era of their grandparents? 4-years of a second term is a ‘Lame Deck’. 2-years until the midterms November 2026 18-months or less before serious Campaigning 100-days is the most effective period of Any Presidential term, about 15-weeks About 3-weeks of ‘Shock & Awe’ ‘Flood the Zone’, then the dust settles and we see where we are Today starts week 2…
