Over The Garden Wall is the peak of 2010's Amerimation and the perfect progression of the shows that laid the groundwork for it, in my opinion. I'm glad its legacy stays immortalised with people like you.

Over The Garden Wall has been 30% of my life for a good while now, I love seeing videos like this one still popping up after so many years. The only thing I don't agree with is the perfect way to watch the show: I think watching just 2 or 3 episodes a day helps the viewer sympatize with characters better and makes the story feel longer.
@dearestdimple Жыл бұрын
That’s so nice! Thanks for the comment I love that people are still talking about it almost 10 years later too it’s amazing! I couldn’t remember when making the video exactly how it aired way back when did they originally do it that way, a couple of episodes a day?
@DeeperIntoTheUnknown Жыл бұрын

This video was so well done and edited! Over the garden wall is one of my favorite shows and I watch it every Halloween. I’d never really thought about how many people Wirt and Gregg accidentally help on their journey to get home. So many layers for a kid’s cartoon! PS I also really hated uncle grandpa 😂

Thank you so much! They are very much unintentional heroes! Wasn’t uncle grandpa the worst?! 😂

Ok I have to respect uncle grandpa for surviving through the great cartoon purge of the Warner discovery merger via Steven Universe but the show it self wasn’t the best

I’ve never watched this series but loved listening to the analysis of it. There are so many cartoons that have very serious undertones and really make you think about what the characters face when rewatching them as an adult. Other analysis lovers like yourself have done videos on shows I briefly watched or heard of and made me realize just how deep the roots go into some of our beloved cartoons. I have even gone as far to analyze some of my own favorite cartoon movies or cartoons like MLP or the 1998 Rudolph on my social media to honor the work put into these loved medias. Thank you for giving me an introduction to Over the Garden Wall. It’s great to learn more about than just seeing fan art ❤ Also while listening, I was sorting my Pokémon card collection and it led me down a rabbit hole of analyzing Pokémon so thanks 😂❤
@dearestdimple Жыл бұрын
That is so awesome! Yeah I think if you dig dep enough you can find deeper meanings in a lot of media! Which makes so much sense right? Because even though the media may be developed for younger audiences or with light hearted themes in mind they are still developed by complex emotion filled people! I hope you found some cool cards you forgot you even had! Speaking of Rabbit holes, omg this Spirited Away one is serious, I have gotten so deep into the weeds with this one it's going to be such a good video hahaha. I never thought I could learn so much just from researching a movie! As always I super duper appreciate your support! Hopefully this one can help my channel grow again! 💛

Lovely video! I saw one of your reels on instagram and just had to see a full essay! I especially love your take on the symbolism of the Beast. Painting him as an insidious corrupter of thoughts leading people to despair rather than just a generic representation of death or Limbo. Great stuff!

This show is great and I find myself rewatching it constantly for three reasons 1. It’s so easy to rewatch bc of how short it is 2. There are some actually deep songs for once 3. There is finally a children’s cartoon that is ok touching on dark things such as death remarriage and betrayal it’s very nice seeing cartoons being taken seriously for once
@dearestdimple Жыл бұрын
I completely agree! I think that’s why it’s so easy for adult cartoon lovers to get into anime because it has more “grown up” themes and concepts but how cool is it to have a western animation that touches on those themes too??
