I don't really know why but some of the Sims 2 music feels so melancholic (and also after many years nostalgic too) and listening it at some very emotional moment almost makes me drop a tear. Can't say the same about osts of the other instalments but can't deny that the theme from the Studio Town will forever be in my heart cause I'm a great fan of midcentury orchestral music.

This is SUCH an interesting topic, imo Mark Mothersbaugh's impact on Sims 2 could be a whole video! Really enjoyed what Sims 2 music could have sounded like in an alternative universe. I've often wondered why sims 4 music doesn't "hit" the same (outside of being attached to an inferior product imo) but what you said about ALL of its music tracks playing ANYWHERE might be part of the problem. Being able to choose which packs music plays depending on what world you're in would be nice! Just would have felt more thoughtful

Danny Elfman composed the theme song for Desperate Housewives, but yeah, Steve Jablonsky composed all the rest of the music starting with episode 4 or 5 I think, and it's so similar!! It fits so well too, with the Sims 3 being about your sims going to their neighbors, living in a sunny neighborhood and DH having that same kind of vibe.

One of my favorite aspects of the first Sims installment has always been the music. It's almost as if it was designed to never become boring or tiresome. I attribute the jazz/bossa in TS1 as the main reason why I listen to those two genres more than anything as an adult - also, The Urbz is so 2004 it's not even funny. Hey Kirce, what are your thoughts on inZOI and do you plan to make vidoes about the game?:)
@k-rce6 ай бұрын
From what I’ve seen from inZOI it’s not really up my alley. It looks gorgeous, but I prefer things to be a little wild and strange, not necessarily a realistic life simulator. My play style is not for realistic or family gameplay. I prefer whacky characters and unrealistic things like aliens. I am also always a bit weary of “realistic graphics”, as I don’t love that uncanny valley and they tend to age poorly quickly. I actually think TS3 is a good example of this as well - despite being the third game I think the graphics have held up the worst. Making a video about inZOI is not on my list for now, especially not before it’s out and we actually get to see the product. What do you think?

ngl coming back to playing sims 2 the other year when I was collating its ost to listen to, also ended up throwbacking to bustin' out as I really enjoyed it in my childhood and wanted to play it again growing up, my taste in music has changed since and when I heard the Smooth Jazz genre of music on that console game, just needed to collate it so quick and because of that, fell in love with Rock Hendricks and his works (so much that to the point I'm making these Maxis-like cover arts using sims 2 models and have one particular cover art making a direct reference to him with his only solo album ahahah) the RnB stuff he did for sims 2 is also very nice, kinda wished they put more for that genre but I think this was a time where there were changes in gaming and music used too before that instance, was mainly into Japanese songs, mainly modern stuff and anime songs for a long time but about 5 years ago I took a change and completely changed over to older Japanese songs but even more dramatically the other year when I was coming back to playing sims stuff, now I listen to mainly older western music now ahahahah there were two artists that made this change for me but Rock Hendricks was one of them
