THIS BAND:
Foghat is an English rock band formed in London in 1971. The band is known for the use of electric slide guitar in its music. The band has achieved eight gold records, one platinum and one double platinum record
The band initially featured Dave Peverett ("Lonesome Dave") on guitar and vocals, Tony Stevens on bass and Roger Earl on drums, after all three musicians left Savoy Brown in 1971. Rod Price, who is featured in this episode, was the specialist on guitar/slide guitar. Rod joined the band after he left Black Cat Bones in December 1970.
The new line-up was named "Foghat" (a nonsense word from a Scrabble-like game played by Peverett and his brother) in January 1971. There is a cartoon drawing on the back cover of the group's first album of a head wearing a foghat.
THIS CHANNEL:
_________________________________________________________
The Angel face you see is the Haserot, named “The Angel of Death Victorious". The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished. Wings are outstretched and the gaze is straight ahead.
IN THE END, DEATH ALWAYS WINS. LEST THE FACES NOT BE FORGOTTEN...
This channel is focused on casually walking and viewing a handful of the thousands of forgotten names and faces at various cemeteries near and afar. Seeing their faces up close. And when able, telling the stories behind their names.
Most graves are unknown and lost to history.
Some are famous.
And some infamous....
....and some with tragic endings.
#Graves #Cemeteries #Death

Man, this one makes me really sad! Growing up in Boston, I remember this band playing in clubs. That would have been in the 80’s, probably with the new guitarist, but they played a lot of the original stuff. It’s sobering to look at that memorial stone and think about how much this guy once rocked out, but now it’s only silence. Rock in peace. 🎸

The first time I saw them in concert was in 1977 at the Springfield Civic Center in Springfield Mass, the billing went, Foghat, Rush and the James Gang, and I've been hooked ever since. In 1988 I saw them after the split at a small place around Enfield Connecticut, and came home with the set list, drum sticks, a monogrammed guitar pick and traded my limited NASCAR Winston Racing hat that only us drivers received at Stafford Speedway for a Foghat '88 Tour hat, and still have them all. I'm pleased that the band still performs today with new faces keeping all of the iconic music alive, I only hope to see them one more time while I'm still on this earth. Thanks to all of the original members for giving us so many years of great music and memories, Rest in Peace my friends and perhaps I will get to jam with you all some day.

Growing up as a teenager in the 1970's, my second concert I went to, in order of their appearance, consisted of Ronnie Montrose, Foghat, & Black Oak Arkansas, at Bell Auditorium in Augusta GA. Foghat blew them all off of the stage. This was during their Fool for the City tour. I still have my 8-track tape. I believe that it is Rod Price holding the fishing pole on the cover of that album. I didn't get to see them again until the original members had re-united in the 1990's. Saw them at a little venue in Cincinnati, called Annie's. We were no more than 25 feet from the stage, & once again, they rocked the house down. They were no longer the long-haired skinny young men, but the music still had the power to pull you in & move you. Over the years, I've probably spent hundreds of hours listening to the band, especially while out cruising around at night as a young man. "When I was stone blue, Rock-n-Roll sure helped me through!" Thanks for the music.

I loved the 70's because it was the melting pot of music. There was something for everyone. Rock, pop, blues, folk and country. You could find it all...... and we still had jukeboxes! Even today I like most music. About the only thing I'm not crazy about is opera. I do have Mario Lanza albums stashed away though because they belonged to my dad, and I just can't let them go. If I could return to a time in my life, it would definitely be the 70's. I badly need a do over. I do love the wording and guitar on Rod's stone!!
