***** It does because they would no longer have the overarching threat that they had in say Series 1 or 4. It means they aren't like a main enemy, and we know they can't do anything to harm a main character of the series as its the first episode.

Kevin Kouki If you're talking about the first doctor thats a completely different situation. They were one of the first enemies introduced as the doctors arch nemesis, his biggest fear. Now they're nothing more than filler.

+Dinobot2468 Remember a few years back when Moffat said he was going to pretty much retire the Daleks because he thought they needed some time off to become scary again? Did he just... forget about that? To be fair to him though, he hasn't really made them the MAIN villains of any of the series' he's done. Yet. S5 and S6 were The Silence, S7 was The Great Intelligence, and S8 was Missy.
