Great list Kevy! It’s an embarrassment of riches. I already feel out of control owning more than two DE razors, so I rely on folks like you to help me narrow down my choices. You have really helped me there. Recently I shaved with the Masamune and found I got a really close shave! It is much easier to use than I thought it would be. Nice razor!

Nice video. I am 70 years old and started DE shaving just a few months ago. I purchased a Merkur Progressive and really like it. Having fun trying out various blades and find the Personna blade ideal for me but continue to experiment. Of course, no real DE shaver uses shaving cream from a pressurized can so, am also enjoying trying out various bowl lathered soaps and a fine brush. Began with a puck of William's and now trying out Geo Trumper's Spanish Leather. Have a Taylor's Of Old Bond Street in peppermint waiting for me. What an enjoyable hobby. I savor DE shaving similar to savoring a fine cup of coffee. Your videos are appreciated Kevy, thanks again. A hearty thanks from Norm in the Black Hills Of South Dakota!

Great selection. For me the Rockwell 6S on R4 is my daily driver. I prefer the Merkur 33C over the 34C. I’ve also got the Gillette Heritage but I’ve found it too mild. Might have to try a Feather in it.

I am looking for a razor that is a one and done razor. My criteria are a. shaves consistently b. has even blade centering. c. leaves me looking presentable in two passes when I'm short on time and bbs when it matters. d. can hack at a five day growth that is relatively thick. e. has a narrow head to get into tight spaces. What would you suggest as a budget option that punches above its weight class (lot of value for the money) and could compete with more expensive razors and an "if money was no object" option? If you want an excellent shave with minimal cost, time and effort try this: Q-Shave adjustable (Merkur clone for $20) razor and Creemo. I tossed out my brush and cup when I discovered Cremo, massaged with fingers, provided superior softening. The Q-Shave razor will not dazzle you with with a jewel-like finish and precision machining but it will provide a first class shave.

I have some of yr choice razors , yes DE89 is very cheap , the old gillette TOO are great , merkur 34C for me is mild, rockwell 6 C I have the gunmetal finish , great great razor , use it with blade 2, greetings from Mexico , robert , for me the mildest razor and cheap one is still the lord 3 pces , cost here only around 3 dollar ,

Excellent choices! I'm curious that Parker was left out of contention for budget friendly, or daily driver. Nevertheless, all contestants were well chosen. I'm in full agreement with the 6S. It shaves well with ALL blade brands. The Muramasa haunts my dreams. I want one now, then again, I want a Blackbird just as badly. Arthur did a smashing job on the numbers of the Progress! Hi Kevy! It's me again. Is this your most recent review where you said the 6S was still your favorite DE razor? I will say that you almost got me. When you said you'd use the Gillette Heritage as your daily driver, I was expecting you to say it was your new favorite. Then you followed up saying the 6S was still your favorite because you could shave with it in your sleep 😉 But I can understand that you had 11 categories to fill. Great choices Kevy! I agree with number 1, the Blackbird is a great looking razor and I love mine. 6S, 34C, DE89. I keep saying I'm going to stop buying and just enjoy what I have and then I order the Karve stainless Daily shave set last night!! 😖😖. That will make 28 and that will have to be it for a while! I had a qshave TTO , but I gave it to away, very dangerous , too sharp always , and it was adjustable , a real problem, for me the design is wrong , I have several other merkur futur copies and all are doing fine, in the near future I hope to find a Gillette fatboy and the merkur adjustable progress , saludos y bendiciones desde Mexico mi estimado kevy. I know you did this list a while ago. Would you change any if you did it today? I saw this video a while back, before I had 11 razors, so I'm just working on my list now. I have mostly vintage razors, but I am tempted to use the Merkur 34C as my classic choice. I know that sounds silly when it's newer than most of my other razors, but I look at DE shaving as having 2 periods, last century and this century. We're in an era where people are rediscovering how they may have shaved years ago, or it's a brand new way for younger people. Even though most of my razors could be considered classics, I think the Merkur 34C is the classic of this period of wet shaving. Most people started with it, and didn't get any vintage razors until a bit further into wet shaving. Fat Boys and Techs are newer to most of us than the 34C.

The handle on the Gillette Vintage razor is a reproduction of the bar handle Gillette put on its New Razors of the 1930s. It's a shame that Gillette didn't release something more classically Gillette, for example the original heavy Tech, which would also have also been very inexpensive to manufacture. Gillette doesn't get high marks for imagination, nor understanding the likes of its customers.
