You can if you buy two sets and toss the foam pad it comes with

I can definitely see there being aftermarket/3rd party inserts.

This is a great idea, except it doesn't work well at all. It's hard to close the case after inserting the grid. My rifles with wider scopes such as a vortex razor or nightforce atacr wont fit. The case simply won't close with these types of equipment.
@SubBubz Жыл бұрын
Anyone saying it won't close, if you have this or a similar case, the top has a few layers of foam. Take the thinnest one out. Everything is still tight, but the case will close fine. I fit 2 rifles in 1 case, both with huge optics. They fit fine.

Nice system, if the price is descent, I think I will get set to see how well it works. It would sure be nice to be able to not have to buy a new case every time you add to the collection. That would have to save $. Again, depends how much they cost.
@thekorky27 Жыл бұрын
My setup is basically the same as you demonstrated. However, the case (V730) is difficult to close, specifically difficult to latch. It's almost as if the lower large grid is slightly too wide. I can get it to close, it takes a lot of effort, and having two people definitely helps. Any suggestions?
@dfl19034 Жыл бұрын
I have a mix of free floating and braced blocks and I have found that after a couple of days that it does get easier to close. I will likely change to all braced after watching this video. Also, I have an extended latch on my AR charging handle and I find that by cutting (ie removing) two of the bottom grid squares allows my to better seat the rifle in the case so that the extended latch has plenty of free-board on the bottom. Overall I really like the DAKA Grid Organizer system. I have employed it for my Pelican 780 and 730 cases.

I'd start with a robust upper body regiment to help you close that case.

Can you guys make one for the Pelican Storm im3300?
@billyboyd418 Жыл бұрын
I sent them an email and they said they are making the pelican 1720/1750 next but no plans for the storm. I have the 3100/3300 and want them to make the same thing. I think the Vault pieces are closer to the storm case if they just remove one row, I don’t know if it’s something that can be cut but they aren’t making anything soon.

future wall mount? back right corner of video?
@BryceKimball7.3 Жыл бұрын
I think if the little square plugs were round, this would be a better idea. On a lot of spots of guns, there won’t be perfectly square spots for one to be resting against. A round one would compress easier and it wouldn’t matter where it’s touching because it’s round. The square will have corners taking more contact than the rest of the square.

What about rifles above 7lb? Heard you make not of the rifle being 7lb or under, what about over?

Doesn't make a difference. A heavier rifle or one with sharp points will hurt the Styrofoam quicker though.

Being afraid of a 36" drop damaging an optic doesn't make the case sound very protective. A good optic should be able to take a hit like that on its own.
@justinparker7196 Жыл бұрын
That's not at all what he said. He said don't pack your red dot against the case wall, leave a gap so the optic can free float so that on a 3 foot drop or higher it cannot contact the case wall.
@XDWX Жыл бұрын
@@justinparker7196 Annnddd what would the concern be for hitting the case wall? Damaging the case? Affecting the red dot? Either way its not a positive selling point. Learn to listen for context clues buddy.
