@@thecocktailian2091 I used to do that - quit if I couldn't be the best. But I realised that I went through life with people constantly being better at things, but I was only bothered by it some of the time. Why should that be? Also, maybe this kid will always be better than us. It's the difference between you playing the bodhran and not being able to. He's still going to be better, but at least you'll have learned a skill. Or maybe you're just joking.

I agree with all you said. For me, I kept looking at the girls, not sure if they weren't both displeased and amused with the boy (showboating in their eyes, maybe?). Of course that was simply my reading, which probably is wrong.

There was a moment that she thought his rhythm was the cue to start counting, but it was a bit later haha. Great chemistry, great playing. Really fantastic music and video. The accordian player is fucking insane. Amazing performance.

During my life, I have been very lucky to see some of the greatest hard-rocking bands in the world but very few with their 6 truckloads of equipment, massive drum set, helpers and 12 pairs of extra drumsticks could match this up young fellow, I would love to see this young man playing alongside the very great Brian Downey of Thin Lizzy, they would make a million pairs of feet tap and hands clap until the cows come home. What an excellent band those young Maguires and their dad make. This is the band that should be representing Ireland in the Euro Song Festival, all they would need to do is add a few words to part of the music, like a few shouts of joy

Suresh, my brother & I both play the music of India.. Have listened to countless hours of the Masters of Indian percussion. Sean could "Sit in" with plenty of Tabla players I suspect. What gifted rhythmic talent the lad has and the limber wrists of youth.

If ever someone was born to play a certain instrument, it's that kid. There are people that strive for decades to reach that proficiency.
This kid with one drum and one stick has better grooves than many adults I have seen with massive drum kits.

Every time I watch this video... it just gets more awesome. The oldest sister is looking to her younger sister by a glance to control the young brother. The young boy, seeing that, taps his drum. He told his sisters to wait until he is done playing his drums. Beyond awesome. That kid has moxie. D

when I visited ireland in 2003 or 2004 we met a brother and sister duet, they couldn't have been more than about 10-12 at the time... we ran into them in galway and circled clockwise around the whole country and ran into them again in dingle.... it's incredible the talent everywhere you look in ireland. if I don't make it back someday I'll curse myself forever.

@GearóidODU - What do you mean myth? Ireland is Gaelic alright but the Gaelic cultures are a subset of the wider Celtic cultures, which now unfortunately only includes Gaelic and Brythonic.
