Johnny Gilbert is, beyond a doubt, THE best game show announcer in the business. He's still just as sharp as ever, plus he gave a shoutout to his wife, Sharee. I thought that was nice. And Jean gave such a nice speech, too. Alex Trebek would be very proud of them.

Michael and Sarah spoke about this on Inside Jeopardy. I believe it's because they weren't able to get in touch with people who were close to Art Fleming, but they said that they wanted to honour him in some way as well. (It could also be that they are temporarily snubbing him and saving his induction for another year; do recall that in the early days of the current syndicated run, Art famously snubbed the show, and said that he thought the show was being dumbed down now that it moved to Hollywood.)

The fact you didn't honor Art Fleming is a crime in my opinion. He may not be as well known by the modern audience, but by golly from the episodes of his Jeopardy! that still exist of his run he is more than deserving of an Honor. He's the STAR of Jeopardy! for goodness sake!
