Presentation I had to do for Bio but also secretly made for my tumblr, / infoofours
There is a mistake near the beginning of the video where I say spoonbill instead of shoebill. Just ignore, I'm an idiot.

So I was recently made aware of the attention this video has received. I don't know how or why it has so many views or comments but I thought I'd pop back on this channel to address some of the comments below in hopes of clearing some things up. 1. Thank you for those of you who liked it. 2. As stated in the description this was just a silly video I made for a Bio class I took 6 years ago. It is not meant to be a professional educational video on Shoebills and is mostly satirical in nature. If you learned something from it, cool! 3. I do not hate Shoebills, they are wonderfully weird birds.. I did however hate school and made this video in my last few weeks of my Senior Year of college so that might explain the sass. 4. Yes, I passed my Bio class. I'll keep the video up because people seem to be still watching and commenting. If you like it or not I hope it at least informs you a bit about this big bird boi and encourages you to learn more on the species and its conservation! Thanks!

If the whole video had been as snarky as the start, I'd say this should be a show on Animal Planet. Seriously, I would totally watch whole episodes of this. Like David Attenborough having a long rethink of his life, deciding he doesn't really like learning about or talking about animals after all, but still being contractually bound to do nature documentaries. Or like the whale biologist from Futurama ;) Seriously, do more of these, be a smartass all the way through, and submit one to Animal Planet.

I have been obsessed with the Shoebill for awhile now. I desperately want one for the front yard, which I feel would deter all solicitation. I have two 110 pound Bouviers that I walk with in the early morning but a shoebill on a leash would be far more intimidating. I’d go down any dark alley with that guy!

I'm straight up terrified of shoebills. Once I was at the London Natural History Museum and passed by a stuffed shoebill on the bird display and I freaked out a bit and my sister had to tell me when it was completely out of sight. Anyway, your narration made watching them for almost 5 minutes tolerable, sooooo thanks. They are actually very interesting birds, but they look like satan's pet bird and can reach the height of Danny DeVito, which I'm not into.

4:22 Favourite image. Fabulous creature! I sincerely hope Hollywood doesn't start using them in films, as some commentators have suggested. I somehow feel it wouldn't be in the best interests of these birds. Anything involving using animals in a profit-making way tends to turn out worse for the animal in most cases.
