I’ve been watching your videos a lot. I carry a OEM gen3 G26 when I’m off duty and I love it! I was flirting with the idea of getting a Taurus G3X, but I realized my G26 with G19 or G17 mags and Xgrips are much better imo. My Gen5 G19 and G47 when I’m on duty are also great modular firearms, but the 26 will always be special.

The Performance Trigger is a long awaited addition (improvement) from Glock. But it would seem that Glock won't come out with a version for the slimline models (43/43x/48). But truth be told, you can achieve the same thing (or better) on a Gen 5 slimline with a Johnny Glock $22 modified OEM trigger shoe, a Ghost PRO connector and a 4.5 pound striker spring. The JG shoe has a pre-travel adjustment and a safety lever that goes (almost) flush with the shoe housing, the Ghost Pro connector has overtravel removal and the striker spring lowers the pull weight. While a different approach the result is pretty close to what people are raving about with the Glock Performance Trigger.

I own a Gen 5 (all stock) and a Gen 3 frame with aftermarket slide with an optic cut and a Holson 407c on it. When Glock comes out with their Gen 6 it needs the performance trigger, a readily available MOS, a rail and finger grooves. I don"t care about the rail but others do. That Glock 26 would be perfect for me.

The glock performance trigger works in gen 4 if you use a gen 5 slide cover plate, glock released or is releasing a ver. 2 that includes the cover plate. Yes, we are informed enough to be aware of this. There is no trigger advantage to the gen 5 over the gen 3 trigger, because the gen 3 doesn't need a trigger upgrade. I believe the gen 3 already has the finest self-defense/carry trigger ever. Just right amount of take-up, hard defined wall, no creep, crisp 5lb break, and most tactical reset in the polymer striker market. This is coming from someone who has spent thousands of dollars on custom trigger jobs, for my many 1911's. But the difference is they are just range/fun guns.

I much prefer the stock Gen 3 trigger to the stock Gen 5 trigger. They have about the same about of initial pre-travel or take-up, but the gen 3 comes to a more defined hard wall. There is no movement (creep) on my stock gen 3 Glock 27, just that crisp trigger break after wall. Where on every stock gen 5 that I shot or dry fired, the wall is mushy, and there is some movement (creep) before trigger break. I also like the gen 3 reset better, as they both have the same travel distance, the gen 3 reset click is stronger, louder, and more tactical.

This is the performance trigger. An after market trigger made by Glock released like 5 months ago
@gracedagostino5231
@gracedagostino5231 Жыл бұрын
@@spnfirearms I am aware of that. But your title said it was the major advantage of gen 5 over 3 and 4. I was making my point that the stock gen 3 trigger is already much better than the stock gen 5 trigger, so I would never change it. I'm very happy with the trigger, as it's a great self-defense and carry trigger. Hence your "big" advantage is gone. I don't care if a carry trigger is 4 or 5 pounds, I'm much more concerned with pre-travel (take-up), wall, trigger travel, creep, pull, and reset than trigger weight.

Prefacing this before anything by saying that I preach what you preach, carry what you like and feel comfortable with. Big thing about finger grooves on a Glock is that some people’s fingers just curve differently when grasping an object. I have a Gen 3 Glock that I absolutely and dumped money into but I prefer a smooth grip over finger grooves because my fingers cannot sit in the grooves. I’m 6’3 for reference. So I feel it’s not a how big your hand is but how your hand is built. Only manufacturer I liked finger grooves from is HK and Walther.
@gracedagostino5231
@gracedagostino5231 Жыл бұрын
My hand is on the smaller side, so the finger grooves on my gen 3 27 fit me like they were personally designed for me. They really lock my grip in tight. I have finger grooves on my HK 2000sk Lem, and they don't fit me nearly as well, or lock my grip in as well. Even though Gray Guns installed their short reset trigger on my HK 2000sk, made it a great trigger, I still shoot my stock Glock gen 3 27 better.

@@ricardoveiga677 So true! The reason is that they don't fit most people. Like I said, they fit me like they were custom made for me. I am 68, and have been shooting handguns for over 50 years, I have shot with literally hundreds of people over the years and have yet to notice an adult shooter with slimmer fingers than me. So, if they fit me perfectly, obviously they weren't designed to fit the masses. None of my shooter friends like them as their fat large fingers press against the intrusions.
