Basically you need a karma system, if you team kill and gain bad karma you get exiled Into being a lone wolf having to survive all on your own.. an outcast mercenary.. Team killers need to be punished and left to fend for themselves.

The one solution is making LZ locations a non kill area so nobody can camp the direct LZ, obviously this just changes the camping to further back but it gives you a fighting chance, like a timer when you arrive .... the other option is to give temporary immunity after drop off and 30 seconds before your heli enroute for pickup ..... naturally this if for only for the pvp servers cause you get the permanent version for pve sooo

I will open a huge secret for you. The closest LZ is not the one you are supposed to normally use. That’s an emergency exfil when shit hits the fan or hot drop to help you faction/teammates. Normaly there is one or two more a bit further and you are supposed to drop there and walk to POI

Put in about an 8 hour sessions with a full squad of 4. We got to the point where our missions are taking us outside the starting town and onto the enemy side of the map. We all decided to never land at the closet LZ near an POI on the enemy side of the map and we have yet to be killed off of the LZ from the get when first going into an area. We would land at an LZ that's 500m+ from where we actually want to go. Or if there's friendlies in the area, we shoot them a message asking if it's safe to land. Not saying the current mechanic is perfect, but it's it avoidable to extent from being LZ killed. Players are too quick on wanting to get into the action and I have noticed a lot of players after landing just begin sprinting and don't do any recon at all or have any sense of their surroundings. We were deep on the enemy side of the map doing missions and constantly killing enemy PMCs. We weren't even trying to PvP, we were doing a task, but PMC just kept landing and running towards us carelessly. Best way to play is play as if enemy PMCs are always nearby. Don't want to claim skill issue, but to an extent it kinda of is. Poor planning and not being aware of surroundings. There are some LZs around POIs that we will never land at because it's so close to the area and chances are there's already an enemy squad there and they can clearly hear our helo coming. Landing further out and walking is the absolute best route to go.

Each POI has LZs that are ~300m aways and only takes an ~15 minutes to walk from without the risk of being killed while landing at the LZs that are less than 100m away from POIs. People who land at these close LZs then complain about being LZ camped are the real problem. Quite acting childish.

We need to equip the helis with miniguns and thermal sensors that will clear everything within 100 m of the landing zone prior to landing. That said, PVE is plenty fun enough and extremely challenging in the later areas. This game will be fine.

Reroute option mid flight? Option to buy smoke screen for heli LZ deployed 15 seconds prior to touch down so the smoke can ploom. Player immunity first 20 seconds after heli drop... Thought about this later...just giving players the ability to ADS and return fire...

I agree with both of u. I guess to take it a step further, the re route could be 1 time only and only immediate LZ close to the original. Final thought on that. But I ultimately agree..it would be exploited in some way. I also saw that you can return fire...there's a fix here but idk it lol. Thoughts?

@@X1MammothMetal1X I think any changes they make now will cause some sort of exploits. The ability to return fire is a great idea. Player on helo can't take damage, but still have the ability to fire, throw grenades, including smoke grenades. Another player recommended that players landing in should have 20 seconds of immunity after landing. At the surface it may seem like a solution, but what about those times where you're extracting and another squad flies in? You'd be caught in the open by players who can't take any damage. When we're playing and planning to fly into an area, we'll communicate with other friendlies asking if there's PMCs in the area. If it's clear or we see another friendly squad land, then we will land at a close LZ. Other than that, if we have any ambiguity with landing at a close LZ, we don't land there what so ever. We choose the next nearest LZ and walk in. Rather take the extra 10-15 minutes to walk from a safe LZ. I think players just need to use some common judgement and don't use LZS that are right next to POIs on the enemy side of the map and don't think there needs to be any further adjustments. Seems real foolish that players want alert enemy's presence by landing at LZs where other PMCs can hear them coming in.

If the helicopter keeps landing in the same place and not random places nothing can stop campers to kill operators, what ever you do , recon drowns, 30 second temporary immunity, etc they still know where you are going to land and they will camp and wait. This used to happen in DMZ too. It's very hard to find a good solution.

The helicopters are literally just an alternative deployment method to speed up the process of traveling. The entire map has small areas with AI here and there for people who just leg it. You don't HAVE to take a heli. This is pretty true to life.. if air is too hot you go on land.

I think they need to add a form of walls to every spot and guards (also guard npc for factions need a huge buff) and you have a 10-30 second timer to get out of the zone then you can only be in the zone when calling a heli. So when you are done on raid you get to the woods or safe spot call a heli and run to that zone. Then make it like the base camps but for every player. I play PvE because of this right now but I'm still having a blast great game and defiant going places

Simply make a temporary invulnerability at your LZ so you cant be spawn camped. Maybe a 20 second grace period or it could be also in a radius around the lz so once you leave the radius your timer is removed? And or if you damage another player the invulnerability is voided?
